My inspiration/research 2.5 hours 4/29 122:2:30
The first thing that I thought of while thinking of this puppet was how would it make someone laugh,
due to the fact that I believe that one of things that brings people together is laughter. This relates to
Jim’s idea of fun. Therefore I wanted for my puppet to have memes on their shirt such as Birds aren’t
Real, to Vote for Pedro, or got milk.
I looked up famous puppeteers who used box puppets. I found One named Brad Shur. A Puppeteer our
of New York. He continually has a show that is usually on the road. But his puppets are very simple and
made of cardboard boxes. But he hollows out the back in order to control the mouths of some of them.
So then I thought to myself I would like to bring some of my favorite ideas and mash them up together. I
did some research on how a box puppet should look like. I thought to myself minecraft. So I looked up a
character model for that. But I knew I I stumbled upon those box puppets that do have a mouth. From
the video DIY - How to make a Box Puppet. I learned how to make a mouth. They connected two boxes
together via taping them inorder make a mouth that goes up and down. The next I wanted to figure out
how I wanted to incorporate the mouth. That’s where I turned to my favorite animated movie spirited
away to the character’s Kaonishi, from the Ghibli movie Spirited Away. This character’s mouth is near
their neck so I wanted to incorporate that into my puppet.

Homeland: Andre was born in the land of Kryalister from his parents Sou and Lange as the only
child.
Background and Personality: Andre was usually the funny one of his species he was always the
school’s clown, but he was always adventurous too. He was the role model of what not to be as he
did things that were not really accepted by his people. He usually did things such as assault and do
“pranks that went too far”. But one day he snuck into a a facility, where his father aws and attached
himself to a pod that went looking for life. Due to the fact that it was radioactive it triggered
something and made him a shape-shifter. He landed on Earth where he had to adapt. He shape
shifted into a human He still loved to make others laugh but through many years of trail and error
he finally learned what was funny to all humans, memes. But he still goes too far with jokes after all
this time but he hates the guilt
Personality: Andre is calm but loves to laugh and makes others too. But resembles when it is a
good thing to laugh and where there is a cut off point.
Likes: Andres first and first favorite things are memes, and telling jokes. But sometimes still goes
too far and makes people cry.

Old white t-shirt cloth - shirt, teeth
Blue felt- for the collar,
Shoe laces- for the laces for the shoe
Yellow paper from an old AP psychology book- hair
Pink felt- mouth
