Character Interview
Imagine that you are an investigative reporter for a news network. Your employer expects you to get the
scoop on Harriet and the events of the chapter you just read. Think of 5-7 probing questions to ask and
answer in the way you think Harriet would answer. Your questions and answers should demonstrate your
understanding of the text. As you prepare, focus on Harriet and the events, ideas, and/or other
characters in the chapter. Consider her feelings, thoughts, hopes, expectations and/or worries. Write
open ended questions and detailed responses. Submit your work as an interview script.
