Day to day Activities: ● Basically I am handling strategic and solutions along with merchandise and operations in Seahydrosystems. The day starts with a quick catch up ( like stand up meeting) with the team,in which we discuss the in and out work status (what we did yesterday? What will we do today? Any blockers? ). “(Example:I have applied user friendly techniques and technically sound and updated websites to cover more potential clients. And I introduced an internet marketing plan like campaignings and got a positive and effective impact on businesses. My strong knowledge in digital marketing strategy, affords a profitable growth to company. ) “ ● .Then will have requirement discussion with users and clients. (Requirements usually on Hydraulic designs, marketing,SEMetc)or(Basically will get a requirements from client for hydraulic design with detailed specifications....Will study the specification, deadline, market trend, users demand, product value, raw material cost and further product manufacturing criterias. Based on that will conclude with manpower, budgeting, financial meetings ups and will work closely with team further for the better result) ● ● Following it,I will prepare MOM (minutes of meeting)for the same. I will document the requirements needed and prepare a backlog for the requirements. (Documents I prepare depends on complexity and size of project and based on organisational standards.business requirement document, business plan, solution approach document, system requirement specifications,functional/process documents, system test plan, charts, backlog plans) ● Will conduct impact and research analysis of products and competitors. (I use agile methodology by breaking up phases from client requirements, planning, executing and evaluating) ● Will then track existing developments according to the priorities. (will have an eye on the progress and deadline of the existing works) Then I need to prepare test cases for nearly deadlines of developments. (in software industry this is the practice) ● I will also provide support to the end users in case of any defect or diversions . (Will check the design, function, overall operations and financial tracks i.e If any budget flaws or turnover flaws will rectify it as per the cases.) ● Then basically will study the latest business trends and technology and do strategies, budgeting and pricing. (swot analysis, process design, agile methodology, most analysis, mind mapping,) ● ● I have to update the manager with a Weekly report regarding the requirements utilization and cost planings if any. I have also travelled to various countries to meet Clients (like Business trips). About Yourself: Ok myself,I am in seahydrosystems with 9yrs of handful experience as a business analyst.I am acting as a connecting bridge between the clients and business. Currently Managing a business team and Data analyst team of 7members and using business tools like Power BI, Googledocs, odoo, to study the stakeholders needs, sales and trends. I did many successful projects with great business models and business plans. Now feel to be a great opportunity to join a big enterprise like TCS to utilize my skills and exposure as well as to get settled in a safer job environment and professional growth. PROJECT METHODOLOGIES What is the project life cycle? Which models will you employ, and why? A project life cycle is a framework implemented by a business analyst to split a project into manageable phases and signify the decision points throughout the project lifespan. The different models are the Waterfall model, Spiral model, Iterative model, Agile model, and V-shaped model. Have you worked on Agile? Yes, I have good knowledge in Agile methodology. The phases are calculated with respect to Sprint. Usually one sprint duration is 14 days (It could be of 7 days as well if the release is nearby). Each team is called as Scrum Team The scrum ceremonies are, 1. Sprint Planning – will plan and assign the tasks to the concern person for the upcoming sprint.(will happen on the 1st day of Sprint) 2. Backlog Grooming- will discuss about the pending tasks which needs to be picked up on high priority.(will have on the mid of sprint which is 7 th day of current sprint) 3. Sprint Retrospective (Retro) – will discuss on ‘What went well?’ , ‘What didn’t go well?’ , ‘What could be done better?’ for the current sprint ( this will happen on the last day of sprint which is on 13th day of current sprint) 4. Showcase/Demo – We need to demo what we have done(outcome) in that particular sprint to client (this will happen on 14th day of current sprint) 5. Daily Stand up – It happens regularly on daily basis , each person has to provide an update on ‘what we done yesterday?’ , ‘What task we will be picking up for today?’ , ‘Any blockers or isues?’. What is waterfall model? Waterfall is the fixed time project, where the duration is more to get the final outcome. Because we will release the particular application into production once the complete application is developed and tested, so there will be gaps in product launch in the market. But in Agile we will be delivering each requirement and enhancements in short span of time (which is 14 days) . which helps to identify the integration issues easily. Have you worked in JIRA? Yes I have knowledge in JIRA tool, let me explain you the Sequence 1. Project – Project will be created by Agile Coach for all the scrum teams 2. Program epic – Program epic will be created by Product owner with respect to the scope 3. Child epics – A Program epic can have multiple child epics, each child epic refers a requirement 4. User Story – User story will be created and will be linked with the epic, In user story, description and User Acceptance criteria will be written for the requirement, will explain the same to the team members. 5. JIRA board – We can track all the tasks assigned to each person , whether it is in ‘To do’ or ‘InProgress’ or ‘Done’. Each person will be assigned with 8 story points for each sprint . We can create sub tasks and split the story points as (1,2,3,5,8). User Acceptance Criteria Sample : (for example airtel recharge app) GIVEN condition should be The customer has provided his mobile number WHEN condition should be The customer clicks on submit button THEN condition should be His current plan details should be displayed AND condition should be The plan validity also should be displayed Do you have any idea on BABOK Guide? Yes I have, there are 6 techniques, 1. Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring – Plan for project for successful outcome 2. Elicitation & Collaboration – deals with verification of Business intelligence and Optimal methods 3. Requirements Life Cycle Management - requirements management and maintenance throughout the complete project 4. Strategy Analysis- business capabilities in order to attain planned outcomes 5. Requirements Analysis & Design Definition- deals with format requirements, such as validation, verification and prioritization, establishing solution options and estimates of potential benefit to the enterprise 6. Solution Evaluation- business value resulting from the project, also identifying any perceived obstructions that may potentially reduce optimal benefits to the organization GENERAL QUESTIONS Why should we hire you for business analyst? One of the main reasons I want to be a business analyst is because I like to be able to see a direct relationship between my efforts and the company's success.I feel myself more successful when I make my business travel in positive profitable trend. WHY PLANNING TO MOVE OFF FROM A GROWING COMPANY? Am working here for quite a long period,so my desire for a career change and my wish to improve work/life balance, made me to think over for a transition. Also I believe my knowledge and skills are particularly well-suited to this position And I will be happy if i get an opportunity to work forward with one of the booming IT giants like you... How you did risk management ? First will identify risk, then analyseit, evaluate the risk, figure out to clear the risk, monitor and review it. Recently faced a financial risk. That the deliverables were delivered but we faced financial pending from client end. And its pandemic time as well..due to lockdown, the process of getting the pending amount delayed.that affected the existing fund. So first I had a face to face meeting with the client, and understood where it was getting delayed. Worked with the client side closely and soon rectified all pending status. Besides this learn some tools and techniques u mentioned in ur profile…. List some of the skills and tools used by Business Analysts. Answer this question by combining both the technical and non-technical tools/skills used by business analysts. ● Technical skills/tool – MS Office Suite, Google Docs, database knowledge, ERP systems, SQL, and more. ● Non-Technical/business Analysis skills – Documentation, requirement elicitation, business process management, and more. ANALYSIS & TECHNIQUES Some instances.. what models used? 1. I Have used Gap Analysis and found out internal breakups and rectified it with proper plans. For example, Six month back, Seasonal sales trend was not upto the mark due to pandemic and storm. I then proceeded with campaign strategies(did digital marketing) and created programme plans to boost up the sales that helped to improve the profit gap and sales gap. I used to travel often to study the clients, business and positive stakeholders and do SWOT ANALYSIS to grow our business. 2. I mostly use agile methodology and do step by step analysis in planning and execution. For example if deliverables in bulk need to be delivered in a short period , here I need more manpower, In that case I made a temporary team to support the deliverables, in such a way both existing and coming up projects wont get delayed. Are you aware of the different techniques like MoSCoW and SWOT? MoSCoW stands for Must or Should, Could or Would. A business analyst should implement this process by comparing every demand with other needs to prioritize the framework requirements. For example, is this requirement a must-have or should have? SWOT or Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats Analysis is the most widely used technique in organizations for proper resource allocation. A business analyst should be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of any corporate framework and translate them into opportunities and threats. What is business modelling?
