Symbiosis
The interaction between two organisms of different species in which at least one benefits
from the other is called symbiosis. There are three major types of symbiotic relationships:
mutualism, commensalism and parasitism. Each is classified according to how one of the
organisms is affected by the other.

Nobody can do it all alone! This is not only valid for us humans, but also for every other natural
organism. The application of give- and- take relationship among organisms is very important to
sustain life. Example inside the classroom; your classmate gave you food, in return, you may
also offer drinks. In this manner, you both gained from your actions.
Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship in which both organisms benefit from one another.
Organisms in a mutualistic relationship often provide each other with food and/or protection.
In some situations, two organisms are so dependent on each other that one cannot survive
without the other. Below are some of the examples.
