Grooming memories Memorable clients and their dogs: Much of the time, I didn’t remember the owner’s name. If they didn’t have their dog with them, I didn’t recognize them. When I did see them with their dog, it was Suzie the Schnauzer and Suzie’s mom. Of note: Zaza: Miniature poodle. Owner- A senior citizen dressed in hot pink spandex with matching hot pink lipstick and nails and makeup like Tammy Faye Baker, with her hair teased into the exact same topknot as her miniature poodle Zoe: a border-collie mix- very sweet and spoiled, but her owners constantly bribe her with treats. She paws and punches, expecting to be given treats for every little thing. Sunshine: a sheltie with fur like a dandelion; very sweet, very old, and prone to discreetly piddling Otis: and incredibly fat pug that bubbled and burbled when he breathed Basil: Old English Sheepdog- fat, undisciplined, cheerful galoot. Once a year shave down, owners let him romp through fresh-mown grass Reese Cup: 123# unneutered golden retriever in a 60-70# frame. Unhappy, mean, and pretty much an ass. Owner is same way- old woman always spoiling for a fight (won’t neuter him because he’ll get all ‘fat and lazy’)
