(U) Mission 1-63 conducts level 1 gunnery (Bradley Table (TT) X and XII) from 0711 OCT on the Douthit Range Complex (DRC) to successfully qualify all Bradley crews on Table XII. End state is 1-63 AR Infantry Platoons that can see the enemy first and effectively distribute direct and indirect fires. 3. (U) Execution 3.a. (U) Commander’s Intent (1) (U) Purpose: The purpose of this operation is to execute tactical operations from the Section and Company level, emphasizing command and control, direct and indirect fire planning, reporting under combat conditions and integration of combat assets. 3.a.1. 3.a.1.a. (U) Key Tasks (U) All Platoons qualify with zero injuries. 2 FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY OPORD 12-040 (Dragon Bradley Table XII) (Unclassified) 3.a.1.b. (U) Demonstrate competent and capable Platoons who are proficient and confident in both day and night operations (troop leading procedures). 3.a.1.c. (U) Company assembly area procedures and SOPs are codified and evaluated. 3.a.1.d. (U) Company assembly area procedures and SOPs are codified and evaluated. 3.a.1.e. (U) Direct and indirect fire control measures are developed and used in fire planning while conducting sustained field operations. 3.a.1.f. (U) Occupation of Platoon’s battle position and an opportunity to work through engagement area development from the BP (with target presentation). 3.a.2. 3.b. (U) End State: 1-63 AR Mechanized Infantry Platoons that can see the enemy first and effectively distribute direct and indirect fires. (U) Concept of the Operation: We will accomplish this mission in three phases: planning, execution, and recovery. The decisive operation is the platoons’ execution of the Bradley Table XII LFX. This is decisive because it allows us to evaluate the platoons’ combat readiness. Operations in the TAC, UMCP and LOGPACs are the shaping operations. 3.b.1. (U) Phase I: (Preparation and Occupation: 04JUN12 – 07OCT12): Begins with a BN level engagement area development OPD with all leaders. This phase includes Company TLPs, rehearsals and a TRM to Company AAs in Maneuver Area Q (See Annex C - Appendix 2 - Tab A). Phase I ends when Companies begin bore sighting procedures. 3.b.2. (U) Phase II (Execution: 07-10OCT12): Begins with Companies conducting bore sighting procedures. During this phase Companies will conduct AA procedures in a tactical environment; Platoons will conduct a LFX, that includes a Table X (day and night) dryfire and the Table XII (day and night) LFX that stresses the Platoon’s ability to conduct a movement to contact, call for fire, hasty defense, hasty offense, react to CBRN, integrate dismounts with Bradley support, and conduct MOUT. Rehearsals will include at a minimum, a terrain board rehearsal at the PLT level prior to execution (field environment). The development of engagement areas will include the use of trigger lines and TRPs for the control and distribution of direct and indirect fires. After each TT X and XII day and night iteration there will be an AAR conducted, 3 FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY OPORD 12-040 (Dragon Bradley Table XII) (Unclassified) audience will be Team Leaders up. This phase ends when the last platoon qualifies their night Table XII engagement. 3.b.3. (U) Phase III (Recovery): This phase begins after the last platoon qualifies their night Table XII engagement. During this phase Companies will clear the DRC and conduct a TRM from DRC to the washrack where recovery operations led by Company leadership begin. Washrack will be open from 0900-1530 for two (2) Mechanized Infantry Companies, the UMCP and the TAC. This phase ends with the completion of a BN AAR with Company leadership input. 3.b.4. 3.c.
