2nd Nov 2019 Self-Awareness Festival Self-Love Through Connecting with Your Body ___ By YanLing (Growthbeans) Why is Connecting to Our Body/Selves important? To be Connected is to Truly be able to Listen Well to what your Body Needs, how you yearn to be Loved & Touched & Held. To Understand yourself on a much clearer level and to start Trusting yourself & your body that You can Indeed Heal & Empower Yourself like no one else can! Having the Clear Intuitive Connection with your Body is like a True Relationship & Partnership with Yourself. How you Speak to Yourself, Communicate with Yourself & Listen to Yourself. It is the One thing that we will Always Have. Ourselves. Any thoughts? 2 Steps (in Flow): 1. Being Aware of The Body Notice the subtle sensations coming from the Body. Is it an Itch? An Ache? A soreness? Or maybe it is a tingling sensation? Heavy or Light? Are you Stuck or in Flow? Just Gently Allow yourself to be Curious and notice the sensations from your Body. Whatever that may be, no label given. Just Notice. (Power Of Now, the book; helps) 2. Connecting to The Body This Step requires a Medium. A way to get even more connected to the Body so that you may start connecting & communicating. It can be through Meditation, Trance States, Breath(eg. Rebirthing Breathwork, Holotropic Breathwork.,etc), Slow/Conscious Movement(eg. Chakra Dance, Tai Chi, Qigong, Feminine Movement), Music(eg. Instrumental, Vibrational, Mantra Songs, Solfeggio Tones), Art(eg. Zentangle, Mandala, Pastel), etc. There are various mediums out there. These are some suggestions you can try! Use whichever resonates best with you! 3. Be in Stillness / Silence Sensing the subtlety of the Physical Body. Being Fully submerged in the present moment & Being Fully within The Body. (Meditative State is a space where you feel the stillness of your Soul, the quietness of your Mind and where you may also feel the Oneness/interconnectedness of your Self & of everyone/everything) 4. Listening to The Body What is your Body telling you? What is good/not good for your Health? Nutrition wise or Type of Exercise etc. How many hours of Sleep is best for you? Communicate and Understand further why a certain part of your Body is in discomfort/pain etc. What does it need? Listen to the intuitive nudges. 5. Trust the Process Giving it what it needs to heal optimally. Trust that You Know BEST, that You know your Body Best! That all the Answers you Seek are all Within You! Give your Body Time. Express yourself, go through the process. (It may be through emotional release, more naps, listening to certain types of music/sounds, connecting to Nature etc) 3 6. Maintain The Practice Repeat the Steps. Take some time out of the week/day to Maintain your Practice in the Long run for a Healthy Mind, Body & Spirit. They are all interconnected and hence will improve your emotional & mental health as well as physical health when we start to communicate with our Body. (To know more, connect with me after!) An example: Going to the Park at my Home every Friday at 5pm to breathe in the Air & watch Nature for 30 mins Process We Went Through Today (feel free to adjust accordingly to your preference) Tribal Dance & Music (To Release Stuck Energies. Going into the Body and Out of the Mind.) Stand up, Do Deep breaths. In from Nose, Out from Mouth. Exhale with a Sigh. Listen to the Music. Stomping Feet & Punching Air with lots of Energy. Breathing out with Sound from Mouth “haah” (Forcefully). Fists are clenched & do this until all the Tension is released. Shake it off if you feel like it. Ending the movement, we stand with palms facing out, feeling the whole body’s Vibration. Feel the Aliveness of the Body. First Meditation (Grounding from being a Tree) Imagine that you are like a Tree, having roots grow from your feet all the way into the Earth’s Core, grounding you. Having branches shoot out from the crown/top of your head that touches the Sky, connecting you to Higher Realms of Wisdom & Consciousness. There’s A beam of Light coming down from the Sky, into the top of your head, body, and out from the feet into the Earth. Let this Beam of Light surround you and Let it shine within you. Be this vessel of light and let the Light wash away anything that no longer serves you. Start to notice that you are actually this Light and this Light is you. Gently, watch the Light in your Body, expand all the way out of the room, the building, the country, the Earth & the Universe. Take a breath. Self-Affection/Nurture (Give Yourself some Love) Start Swaying like the Tree/Move (slowly/gently) if you wish to. Hug/Hold/Embrace Yourself. Give yourself the Love & Affection that you have craved for so long from your Parents/Guardians/ex/current Lovers, etc. Rub, Kiss, Massage, Squeeze, Sooth, Touch, Hold any of your Body Parts to express your gratitude and to give yourself what you need. Give yourself that Love that you so yearn from others ever since you were a very young child. (Hold your legs together and Rock your body side to side/ front & back if you’d like. Eg. like a baby in a cradle) 4 Gratitude Meditation (With Ho’oponopono Music) Choose to Lay Down if needed. Sing along to the 4 phrases if you feel called to. I’m Sorry. Please Forgive Me. Thank You. I Love You. Give Thanks to yourSelf & your Body for having been there for you since the Day you arrived on Earth. Appreciate and Know that Your Body can reveal many things to Who You Are and that your Body can truly be your Best Friend, Intuitive Guide & your Best Nurturer/Lover.
