Activity 1: MY STORY
During a rainy Tuesday night in Lapu-lapu City on May 15 2001, I was born. My name is
Loida Therese A. Romea, and I’m currently 19 years old. I’ve lived in Bohol for the majority of
my life but both of my parents, Brian and Liza Romea, are Cebuanos. I’m the second child of 5
siblings and we all are currently still schooling. They go to school in Dimiao while I am studying
college here in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
I started school at the age of 6 in the elementary school of my town and transferred to
Tagbilaran during 6th grade and graduating from Cogon Elementary School. I then studied in
Tagbilaran City Science High School for the entire duration of my junior and senior high years. I
consider myself as am average student, I study but not as often as one would deem proper. I
often procrastinate even when I know I’ll regret it. I’m an outgoing person but I only have a few
friends I’m close to. On the day I finished taking the entrance exam of BISU, I thought I’d never
be able to study my dream course. But by some stroke of luck I passed and now I am currently
in my second year of college taking up the course Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
For the immediate future, my goals are finishing my studies and helping my siblings
continue on with their education especially the two youngest sisters I have. I aspire to live a
simple life, not very extravagant but still comfortable. I want to pay back my parents for their
hard work and so I want to give them a comfortable life when they reach the age of retirement. I
hope I can achieve my dreams and continue to be a role model for my younger siblings to be
more diligent in their studies.
