HEM WATER COUNTER AQUARIUS 1. GENERAL Aquarius is a single-jet velocity meter designed for the precise metering of drinking water consumed by water company subscribers. Multiple versions are available, so there is a model for almost every case of use in domestic distribution, both for cold water and hot water. As they are equipped with electric pulse emitters, they can transmit data either through wired or radio channels. Aquarius is a meter that is characterised by great ruggedness and reliability, making for accurate metering, even under difficult conditions, over long periods of time. 2. PART NUMBER REFERENCE : WATER COUNTER AQUARIUS V3 2.5 CODE : 1105501 3. In case of a fall, or if the meter shows traces of impact, we recommend testing it prior to installation. 3.3 STATIC PRESSURE It is designed to operate at a maximum nominal pressure of 16 bar. Test pressure is brought up to 32 bar (in accordance with ISO 4064) and breaking pressure is greater than 50 bar, with cold water or hot water. 3.4 WATER HAMMER EFFECT It withstands over 40,000 fast pressure increases from 0 to 16 bar in 0.2 seconds. FILE NAME : WATER COUNTER AQUARIUSTECH SPECS-ENG- R3 28/03/14 1 3.5 OVERPRESSURE DUE TO FROST When the meter is drained (when the valve before the meter is closed and a drain is opened after the meter) the meter’s body remains dry, and frost has no impact on the future characteristics of the meter. When the meter is not drained, there is a risk of the pressure plate breaking. 3.6 FILTRATION The meter is equipped with a plastic filter located in the nozzle before the meter. It can be checked and cleaned. Caution : during normal operation, water going through the meter must not have any particles larger than 0.1 mm in size for a concentration of 0.1 gram/litre. 3.7 NOISE LEVEL In normal operation, it is totally inaudible. 3.8 ACCIDENTAL FLOWRATE It is designed to resist for 10 minutes at 3 Qmax without sustaining damage. 3.9 LEGIBILITY The meter is equipped with the patented ABS (anti-fogging system) register, and is fogproof according to the NSE 001 standard. The register withstands prolonged immersion of over 6 months, at a depth of 1 meter of water. Only use soapy water to clean the capsule of the register. Never use solvents. 3.10 CLEANING The body of the meter is made of brass; it can safely be cleaned with slightly acidic water (vinegar, de-scaling agent) in order to remove all traces of calcium. The register is made of synthetic resin. The use of solvents is prohibited for its care and maintenance. Only use soapy water. Solvent vapours may diminish the mechanical resistance of the main parts made of plastic. 3.11 FROST PROTECTION Protect the meter from frost by completely draining all the water it contains. Draining is carried out by opening the connection on the pipe after the meter (remove the non-return valve as needed). 3.12 NON-RETURN VALVE All 15 mm and 20 mm meters can be fitted with a non-return valve in the nozzle after the meter. 3.13 MODULAR CONCEPT All meters are pre-configured to be equipped (even in the field) with a Pulsar pulse emitter, an Izar radio or a Draco dosing device system. 2 2-17 Modular concept All Aquarius meters are preconfigured to be equipped (even in the field) with a Pulsar pulse emitter, an Izar radio or a Draco dosing device system. 3- Construction principle 4.
