Templates for printing Slip-in Labels
SMALL & MEDIUM TARGETS
IMPORTANT:
Before the first use, this Microsoft Word template file should be converted to a Locked file (Mac) or Read-Only template
(Windows). Both are the same thing. The template file will open as “Read Only.” When the template is used, you can save the
altered file only by giving it a new name. If you merely wish to close the file without saving, e.g. after printing out your labels,
the alterations will be discarded. In both cases, the original template is thus preserved.
Mac:
Windows:
Right click on template file icon > Select Properties > In
open File Info window> Check the “Locked” box.
General Properties menu, click Read Only box under
Attributes > click Apply button.
Notes:



Black boxes are for UV/visible fluorescence photographs. They will print white on black.
The labels are set up to use Arial 10 font (medium target) and ARIAL 6 (small target). To change font, hold cursor over
top of column until an arrow appears, then click to select the entire column. (Pages: Just click on edge of column to
select.) Select desired font and/or font size. If desired, a second template with a different font can be created, or the
original can be altered by unlocking the file, resetting the font and relocking.
After cutting out labels, bevel the corners at one end to facilitate insertion of label into Mylar card holder.
