Christ Joshua Culaba Reflection Upon making my waste journal, I have realized that it is easy to create a significant amount of trash. I found out that I have been abusive in throwing my trashes. It made me realize how I live here on earth. This waste seems to be healthy, but then I come to realize how dirty I have been and how I have been polluting this planet. I have been consuming what is not necessary to consume. The waste that I threw could have made a massive risk for the environment and the people around it. I have also been disposing my trash to the wrong bins. I had realized this when I was doing my waste journal and how I was confused with what waste to what bin. Furthermore, I have realized how it is hard for me even to throw my trashes to trash bins. Sometimes I tend to scatter it around. I have been a pest on the planet as I go around and pollute the world slowly. This comes up to my mind that I should be mindful of what is happening among our environment where we can see calamities and such. This is the result of what we had been doing. Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si, is his second encyclical which critiques how the development of men and infrastructure has been dealing a lot of damage as it laments environmental destruction and degradation. Furthermore, this encyclical also shows how we have been irresponsible by our acts among us. We should be one in being responsible for our home as the encyclical talks about the care for our current home. We should be somehow thankful to God for his beautiful creations. We should return God the favor by taking care of his incredible gift for us. We must start the change within ourselves as we gather around and join the advocacy to be one with the world. We should not let our irresponsible actions destroy our only home. We should make the world a better place not only for some but for all. We should gather as we develop but now intelligently solve the problems. As I end my reflection, I come to realize how abusive I have been. Furthermore, we should be better as we create our new world. We should be one in serving justice and care to our only planet.
