Alongside these sounds, the children also learn the red words (tricky words). These are difficult to blend but are key high
frequency words they need to read and access texts. We use Magic 100 to teach these. We start with Golden Words,
then Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Indigo and Violet. Children move onto the next set when they are secure with
the current set they are on.
