We express the intention (niyat) to perform wudu, by saying this. We wash our hands, first the right and then the left, 3 times each. We wash up to the wrists and clean between the fingers of both hands. We rinse our mouths 3 times, using our right hand. We clean our nostrils, 3 times, by inhaling water, using our right hand. We clean out our nostrils, by using our left hand. We wash our face, 3 times, from the above part of our forehead, to below the chin and from ear to ear. We wash our forearms, including the elbows; first the right forearm and then the left, 3 times each. Wipe both your wet hands over your head, from the forehead to the nape of your neck and then back. Then we also wipe inside our ears. We perform both actions, only once. We wash our feet, first the right and then the left, 3 times each. We wash up to the ankles and clean between the toes, with the little finger of our left hand. This is the prayer to be recited after the completion of wudu. Wear clean clothes, before starting wudu. Actions that break the wudu: Deep sleep Passing wind Passing urine or faeces Falling unconscious Eating food Drinking water Drinking soft drinks Cooking food Having food stains on your clothes
