Hip Joint
• The Hip joint is a synovial joint (ball and socket joint),
and is the body’s second largest weight-bearing joint
after the knee.
• It is formed by an articulation between the head of
the femur (the ball) and the acetabulum of the hip
bones (the socket).

Bony Structure
• There are two bony structures that forms the hip
joint:
1. Proximal Femur.
2. Pelvis
