01.01 Course Expectations
Read and print this page for your portfolio.
Students will be expected to do the following:

Complete the number of assignments required per week, and submit work on a weekly
basis. (View pace options to determine the appropriate pace for you.)
Keep a hard copy and a backup copy of all assignments in a portfolio or binder.
Read all texts assigned in their entirety, and complete all related assignments in the
order they are assigned.
Read directions in the modules and follow them.
Complete each module in its entirety before moving on to the next. No assignment
should be skipped without consulting the instructor in advance.
Complete ​all assignments​ in ​all modules​ one week ​before​ the National College
Board AP Exam.
Be aware of deadlines. This applies especially to seniors. Please plan accordingly to
avoid missing deadlines for graduation.
Keep a working email address, and check your email on a daily basis.
Respond to any emails from the instructor requesting information or a response.
Communicate at least once a week with the instructor, either through email or
submission of assignments, to discuss work and or any problems.
Participate in any synchronous conversations set up online for the course.
Access resources from a variety of sources including, but not limited to, print sources,
the Web, and other electronic sources such as video, audio, and CD-ROMs.
Have the appropriate hardware (computer) and access to the Internet and a printer.
Conduct in-depth research on a particular work.
Produce and present a presentation of the research project, using a graphics program.
Write a course evaluation.
The instructor will be expected to do the following:

Teach the skills necessary for students to analyze the works assigned.
Provide the primary materials and resources needed by the student.
Assist students in navigating through the course tools.
Be available by email and at least one other means of comunication to assist the
students and receive work completed by the students.
Evaluate the work submitted by students, and provide feedback to students and
parents.
Provide students with basic literary research tools and/or the websites where students
may go for assistance in their research.
Assist students in their task of comprehension and critical analysis of the works read.

Provide students with emails alerting them of deadlines and upcoming events related to
the course.
Keep accurate records of the work completed by students and the grades earned.
Keep records of contact with students and parents.
