Adopt a leading role with respect to Contractor’s quality and safety procedures. The Site Supervisor is also responsible for the overall implementation of this method statement. The Site Supervisor shall ensure that the key personnel are well aware of the specifications and method statement. GF shall arrange all materials, equipment, safety related items & technical personnel to resort appropriate action for the smooth execution of the works. GF shall be responsible for safe working environment & conditions. Coordinate with Site Agent for CEIL to identify potential hazards before works and advise methods of safe working from new developments. Site Supervisor shall ensure that all materials shall be delivered to site comply with approved samples. Site Supervisor shall ensure that all machinery, tools and equipment required for casting required will be available on site. 6.0 MATERIALS All materials to be used are subject to the approved samples already on site. 7.0 EQUIPMENTS & TOOLS Below is the equipment involved in tiling works: Concrete Mixer 1CM 1 No. Poker Vibrator Standard 1 Nos. The capacity / size of the above equipment shall be judged in accordance with site conditions, requirements, and availability at the time of execution 8.0 SAFETY & HEALTH CONCRETE MIXER Before operations, check all fuel and oil levels Wear gloves, eye protection Poker vibrator: Before operation, check all power connections Wear gloves and eye protection. Do not operate if switch is damaged Hold machine firmly, especially when starting Method Statement for INSTALLATION OF PLINTHS Document No: Rev : 00 Date: 17th - December - 2020 Page 6 of 12 Check all moving parts for wear and tear SECURITY – HEALTH AND SAFETY CHECKLIST AT PLACE OF WORK: Housekeeping – Keep place of work clean and tidy. Provide good access. Provide good lighting. Provide protection Ensure goggles, gloves and masks are worn when dipping marble in sealer. Ensure safety boots are worn all times Ensure safety helmets, goggles, gloves and belts are provided and used if required. De-nail and stack timbers Prohibit Horseplay on Scaffolds Power Connections safe-Never tamper with electrics. Get an Electrician. No power tools to be used without proper plug. 9.0 PROCEDURE RE-BAR INSTALLATION: 9.1 Anchoring and fixing of re-bar: Site Supervisor shall ensure that all re-bars are polished and no rust and dust part deposits are found on the bars or the working area. Drilling shall be done using a concrete bit drill of diameter 16mm and dust/concrete particles due to drilling will be removed. The drilling will be done to a minimum depth of 128mm as per the specifications of the manufacturer. The re-bar is fixed using the Sika AnchorFix-1 as per manufacturers detailing. 9.2 Formwork : The GF will ensure that all boards used for the work are clear of any contaminants. The GF will ensure that the formwork used is braced sufficiently to resist pressure from vibrating action. The GF will ensure that formwork used is satisfactory in providing accurate dimensions and smooth finish to cast concrete. Project Engineer shall check the suitability of the formwork. Project Engineer shall check site condition to ensure readiness for casting. Project Engineer shall check the suitability and ratio of aggregates to be used to conform to Engineering BS standards. GF will ensure the concrete mixer and vibrator are functional and on site. GF shall ensure the appropriate testing apparatus’ for concrete tests is available. Bonding Agent Prepare surface as follows: Hacking the area to prepare a suitable surface of bonding agent in this case to be a slurry mix Ensure surface is clear of debris and concrete particles that may have resulted due to hacking. The area is made wet and slurry is poured in to cover the whole surface area of the old concrete to be bonded over. Portland Cement Clean Water 50 kg 10 liter Prepare slurry as follows: Portland Cement 25 kg Clean Water 5 liter Spread Slurry Mix evenly to bedding layer to the desired thickness ( ranging from 5 mm to 15mm) Mixing of concrete A mix design issued using cement type 42.5R will be maintained throughout the procedure to produce C30 concrete mix which will be tested in 150mm cubes. Concrete mixer will be used to produce a homogeneous mix. Fresh concrete will be poured in from a height of 1m Poker vibrator will be used to vibrate and produce sufficient compaction of fresh concrete.
