Henry II Diary Dear Diary, Today I awoke after having a troublesome nightmare. My servant ran into the room with terribly sad news. Saying that my dear old friend Thomas is dead. I cried out in sobs hearing these very sad news. There was a Terribly big crowd outside the castle. I had a look. People were holding up signs. They were righten in red. The red told me immediately that they suspected me of killing my friend. Then this anger over took me but then I knew if I order my guards to take the crowd prisoners then they would surely tell the Pope and I will be banned from the church. So to show that I was truthfully sorry I had to do some extremely unconfutable things and painful. I felt scared doing them but I also felt scared getting banished from the church. There was no way that they would believe me if I told them that I did not give the order to kill Becket. So I felt the pain and wore for the first time the most uncomfortable clothes and felt cold my feet were sore after waling upon dirty filthy stones. The worst of it was when I monks whipped my back. I saw how they did it to criminals and didn’t think it will hurt as much. After all of this I promised myself to never say bad things under my breath. It has been the saddest day and most painful day ever. I lost my very best dear friend that died in the hands of my troublesome knights. The king Dear Diary, Today This greedy little king had me on his head as he was signing the Magna Carter. That will teach him a lesson for stealing from the poor. He unhonourable king he was so bad that even the rich rebelled against him. He didn’t deserve to have me on his little head. When he had signed I was happier than ever. I nearly cried out in joy. But knowing if I did they would be astonished that I can talk. It was a relief. Thinking of all those people that suffered because they didn’t have any money. Of course Robin Hood was around and helped a few. He was 2nd worst king that I ever sat on. See you later The Crown Dear Diary, Today I had to sit and listen to the king decision. If he promised than he had to keep his promise. But at the same time Simon de ‘s Montford just wanted power. And he also wanted to be the most important in the country. If all the barons except him agreed with Henry II decision then he should go with it but making a war with Henry wasn’t the wisest decision. I was mad at both people. They were both not very smart. Especially when Simon de Montford died in a battle. But the king was not trust worthy and broke a promise. And that was not a good choice to make as he angered Simon de Montford. The Crown Dear Diary, Today King Henry VIII divorced his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. He was happy because now he succeeded in gaining power over his country. I listened to his deep and angry tone as he was giving orders to his counsellor, Thomas Cromwell. I had no patience with this King as he was prepared to kill all the monks in England just to be able to divorce his wife. That day he was happier than ever. All of his ancestors failed to gain absolute power over the country but he succeeded. But one thing worried him. He had divorced the sister of the King of Spain. And the King was furious when he heard that Henry had divorced his sister. The King of Spain would have his revenge and at least try to do something about the situation. The Pope did not respect King Henry and excommunicated him from the Roman Catholic Church. I wonder how many new enemies he made that day. That coward, he dared to place me on his nasty, unpleasant head. He also killed Richard whiting which was a abbot of a monastery in Glastonbury abbey. The king had him executed after finding a letter which said that he was not happy with him divorcing his wife. He executed him in a very brutal way. The Crown Charles I Dear Diary, Today I have heard that it is the execution. I do not think it is affair judgement as the trial was made up of parliament and therefore. Most people went against him but I do agree with the punishment because he did cause a lot of deaths in the civil war. As because of him it broke out. But he did think in a way and believed in it very strongly. I feel sorry for him but he did deserve it. As a result he got beheaded. He married a Catholic and that angered the church of England and ruled without Parliament for 10 years and that angered the Parliament and therefore a civil war broke out. Therefore he did deserve his punishment. The Crown See you later Dear Diary Today I sit on this better king than usually which in my opinion has been better than most kings as he has brought good thing to this country. He allowed people to be different religion not protestant. Which of course is a good thing! And he also didn’t do something bad. E.g. not like his ancestors Henry VIII, King John, Charles I. He also was a man very peaceful and was cousin to the king of France which made them both allies and both interested in Art. So sitting on him was a pleasant stay as he loved art and would spend looking at different pictures, all magnificent. He would walk around and on the ceiling there would be walls painted with different paintings. I enjoyed art too and really liked it. In fact he made me like it even more. He was a man which presented himself as very important and royal. The Crown
