One thing I want to tell you about this
person:
Gabrielle was appointed by Mnister Carolyn
Bennett as the youth advisor for the
Indigenous youth voices initiative.
Something important this person said:
“Youth from all nations need to be ready to
step into leadership roles so we can work
towards the world of harmony and peace
that our Elders, prophecies, and legends
talk about.”
Five ways to describe this person:
1. Trailblazer
2. Empowering role model
3. Accomplished
4. Community Focused
5. Resilient
My Name
Gabrielle Fayant is the Co-founder and Co-CEO of the
Assembly of Seven Generations (A7G) - an Indigenous
non-profit youth led organization. She is a leader in
Ottawa's community organizing scene. She runs cultural
empowerment and support programs for youth that are
founded in traditional Indigenous knowledge.
Gabrielle is also a radio host, public speaker, producer,
writer and television host. She highlights Metis artists
past and present and discusses Metis history and
contemporary issues. Her goals are to empower
Indigenous youth and bring awareness to Indigenous
rights.
In her life, she has had to overcome a lot of adversity to
get to where she is today. She has come from extreme
poverty, battled with addiction and the loss of her
mother at the age of 19.
Gabrielle continues to focus on building community for
Indigenous youth in Ottawa. She is breaking down
barriers and creating safer spaces for youth to grow,
develop and use their voice.
