Leadership Evaluation Report Date: 19.11.19 SUBJECT/FOCUS AREA: PEOPLE INVOLVED: SEN ) Brief description of activity: We visited each class to observe/monitor intervention recording and class SEN Folders. We talked to each TA who talked us through how they delivered interventions and their impact and how they recorded progress etc. We also monitored how IEP’s were used to focus interventions and outside agency target reports. It was excellent to see extremely effective precision teaching taking place which was having a high impact in spelling/phonics and maths. KEY ACTIONS NEEDED: BY WHOM TIMESCALE FOLLOW UP/DONE IEP’s to be up to date and in front of intervention books – All intervention sheets to be used to record dates/non recordable work SEN Class folders to have up to date outside agency reports All and IEP’s TA’s not to be taking a lot of time writing up onerous notes All Children struggling with retention of key words/number All facts/spellings etc to take part in precision teaching IEP targets to be achievable and measurable. For example: To All spell 40 common words for year 1 & 2 correctly (What 40 words?) Does this help parents to support their child at home? Is this manageable for TA’s? Could it read: To blend to ccvc words e.g.: ship, chop, this, chat, them, flat, trip, stop, pram, trap, grab, spot, glum, clap, drop, drum
