POST RACIAL AMERICA
Abstract
This paper evaluates the claim made by political observers that the United States of America has
entered a new era of “post-racism.” The paper goes over what would make a society “postracial,” and if America currently meets those guidelines. Studies and research are used to qualify
if the general American public agree with the observers claim that they live in a racism free
society. The research used in this paper is published in American Behavioral Scientist, the
University of New Hampshire’s Perspectives, and other sources. The paper goes over what
would make a society “post-racial,” and if America currently meets those guidelines. The paper
concludes that despite the lack of official segregation and discrimination by the government,
many in America still experience racism through implicit bias and individual actions.
