Alan Moore’s The Watchmen: Essay and Socratic Seminar assignment This is a two part assignment. Read both parts! Part 1: Write a short paper answering the following questions: * Which characters to you think acted correctly (overall) in this situation, and which acted incorrectly? Why and why not? *Who was your favorite character? Did you agree or disagree with their ethics? Why? * Do you think comics can be considered literature? Can "pop" mediums be considered art? Why or why not? Note: You are not required to use any sources for this assignment. But if you feel you do need to use any, use proper MLA citation. Part 2: We will have a class discussion. Be prepared to share your thoughts on the questins you answered in Part 1 in a Socratic seminar. You will be graded on participation. You might also be asked any of the questions that appear in the Watchmen PPT. It wouldn't hurt to read the Wiki page on the philosophers/historical figures mentioned in the PPT.
