Proposal for Process Improvement
Requestor:
Adventure work cycles human resources department.
Business Problem:
Adventure work cycle is an organization of 800 employees, and we want our employee
data records to be comprehensive and up to date fulfilling all federal, state and municipal
requirements.
Today the company record on file do not contain staff emergency phone number. This is
one of Arizona emergency response act requirements and if we ignore it, a violation could result
in the state imposing a fine, taxes increase or totaling revoking of our operation license within
the state.
The state has given the company 2 months to comply to this requirement of face
penalties. To correct this, we will require to update the information in our company database.
Proposed Solution:
To protect the business from risk of government penalties, below initiatives need to be
implemented.

Initiate a change management process for updating the company database

Review of data collection and validation process

Company database audit and baselining

Updating database baseline with employee emergency phone number

Implementation Steps:

Identify the data to be updated and gather data

Scope the data update plan, identify stakeholders’ required for deliverable, determine
budget.

Identify database, create baseline and ensure backup of database.

Take assessment of change process and determine skills of teams, resources required,
task planning and acceptance criteria

Execute changes and required updates to database.

Establish new database baseline and test system.

Conduct full system audit and ensure data integrity and compliance to acceptance
criteria
