In a crisis situation like this pandemic, it is important for every citizen to follow the basic precautionary measures to be safe. It all starts with an individual to take a personal interest and create public awareness." A number of vaccines are now in phase three clinical trials and we all hoping to have a number of effective vaccines that can help to prevent people from Novel corona virus infection. CORONA VIRUS Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease COVID-19 (As per WHO) .The virus first appeared in Wuhan city of China in December 2019 SYMPTOMS OF THIS DISEASE Covoid-19 / corona virus affects different people in different ways. Most common symptoms fever, dry cough, tiredness and less common symptoms are aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhea, conjunctivitis, headache, loss of taste or smell, rashes or discoloration of finger and toes. HOW TO PREVENT INFECTION BY TAKING SIMPLE PRECAUTION World has changed entirely in the last few months. While COVID-19 cases being reported on a daily basis continue to rise, people can significantly minimize the chances of getting infected with virus by taking simple precaution which is recommended by WHO. Because the virus spreads through respiratory droplets of the infected person, so, it is must to stay at home as much as possible to avoid coming in contact with an infected individual. 3 3. Maintain at least one meter or three feet distance preferably two meters from any sick person, or anyone coughing or sneezing since you are likely to inhale their oozed out respiratory droplets and become infected. 4. If anyone feel unwell with flu-like symptoms such as fever, dry cough and shortness of breath, isolate oneself from others, and immediately contact with your doctor on call. Share travel history with them and they will guide on diagnosis and treatment, or can contact with the state or central health authorities through their round-the-clock helpline services. 5. Even if anyone develop mild symptoms such as slight fever, or a bit of tiredness, they are advised to isolate themselves from others until complete recovery. 6. Practice Respiratory Hygiene. We should must have to cover our nose and mouth with handkerchief/tissue while sneezing and coughing, and dispose of them immediately after use. 7. Ensure to wear mask when we are sick with coughing and/or sneezing to avoid spreading the infection among others. 8. If anyone have come in contact with a COVID-19 positive person recently, then self-quarantine oneself and carefully monitor one’s health. Immediately consult the doctor in case of any difficulty. 9. It is recommended to remain updated about the travel advisories and other important guidelines issued by local authorities and the Government of India, and strictly follow the instructions. 10. Be aware while touching doorbells, elevator buttons, milk bags, garbage bins, newspapers, etc. as they might be infected with the corona virus. 11. Don’t engage in any kind of social activities as the chances of being infected with COVID19 are higher in large gatherings. 2. Avoid visiting public places such as parks, malls, restaurants, movie theaters, or any other places that are swarmed by crowds. 3. Avoid hand-shakes. Greet each other with folding both hands “Namaste”, the traditional way of greeting in our country. 4. Avoid unhygienic junk or street food. Rather, focus on taking a balanced diet that would strengthen immune system and help to fight the infection. 5. Don’t spit in public place as the respiratory droplets can infect others and risk their lives as well. 6. It is advisable to avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth without washing your hands with alcohol-based hand rub, or soap and water as the novel coronavirus enters your body through eyes and the respiratory tract. 7. Avoid smoking and other activities that can weaken the lungs and make you more susceptible to the infection. CONCLUSION- Constant efforts are being made to prevent from coronaviruses. Researchers are busy making medicines to get rid of this virus. The government is constantly taking drastic steps to avoid this dangerous disease so that it can get rid of this pandemic.
