Hello, I would like to introduce myself, I am Manvin. My degree program is Applied Behavorial Science. My career goals are to be an Educational counselor, Child counselor, and, or Youth counselor (https://www.psychologyschoolguide.net/guides/careers-with-appliedpsychology-degree/. Applied Behavioral science is the study of human behavior in everyday life. This course will be helpful in learning how to understand one’s behavior. Working with young youth will be difficult if you don't understand their thinking and behavior. I hope to better understand human behavior and what drives our emotions. I am particularly interested in Youth counseling or child counseling because I would like to learn about childhood depression and anxiety. I feel there are too many younger youths who have problems with their feelings and feel depressed and anxious. I currently work in the medical field, and see many teenagers, young kids with mental disorders. I would like to know why there are so many. It seems it is only getting worse and I feel there isn't enough help, especially in my area. I have some experience in talking to my patients. I do feel I have the skills where they feel comfortable talking with me which will help me with my future career as a counselor.
