JSH Cultural Programs during pandemic 1. Samuhik Tap and Jaap Saankli for COVID19 (May 1- July 31) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Viral and Vaishali Jagani, Chandan Pokerna Details:We started a Samuhik Tap and Jaap Saankli at JSH in May where at least one Sangh member is doing Tap (either Ekasana, Ayambil or Upvaas) and Jaap every day for 3 months. Jaap:- 108 times 'Namo Jinanam Jiya Bhayanam'. Tap and Jaap bal gives us mental strength to pray for world peace and health during COVID19. We had 80 Participants who did 162 Tapasyas in 90 days. Out of which 26 kids participated in Tapasyas as well. We had total of 8 Upvaas, 19 Ayambil, 117 Ekasanas and 20 Biyasanas. 2. Samuhik Jaap and Bhakti Bhavna every week for COVID19 (May1- July 31) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Viral Jagani, Preeti Jain, Karuna Bhandari, Meena Kapasi, Bhairavi Parikh Details:We started weekly Samuhik Jaap and Bhakti Bhavna. The weekly Samuhik Jaap started with Mangal bhavna, Mangalcharan and Panch Smaran (Navkar, Uvasagaharm, Laghu Shanti, Shantikaram and Moti Shanti). After the Panch Smaran, we had Samuhik Jaap of 'Namo Jinanam Jiya Bhayanam' and also Jaap of Shantinath Bhagwan. Following the Jaap we did Bhakti Bhavna that included Ratnakar Pachisi and Arihant Vandanavali. We had 65 participants reciting various Sutras, Jaap, Stutis and Stavans, Out of which 26 were kids!! 3. Chaudas Partikraman (Online) every Chaudas Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kanti Shah, Nilesh Shah and Meena Kapasi We have started Pakhi and Chaumasi Pratikraman at JSH. We have been doing Pakhi and Chaumasi Pratikraman for the last 2 years. We have continued the avshyak kriya of Pratikraman even during the COVID19 using audio conferencing (zoom). Around 30 to 40 people actively join every Chaudas Partikrman during Pandemic and Kids recite various Sutras. 4. Online Kids Talent Show (June 6 and June 7) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Viral Jagani, Preeti Jain, Karuna Bhandari Details:We organized Talent Show for Kids. Talent show gave kids opportunity to learn new Stutis, Stavans, and Jain stories and perform in front of large audience. Talent Show Information: • • Participants recited Stutis, Stavans, Jain songs and played various Musical Instruments. Participants recited short Jain stories and gave speech on various Jain topics. Some of the topics include Jain Literature, Jain Tirth, Jain History, Jain Sutras and meaning etc. Over 50 kids participated in the talent show. 5. Ratnasundar Maharaj Saheb Pravachan followed by Bhakti Bhavna with Vickey D Parekh (June 14) Volunteers:- Kamlesh Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Chaital Shah, Viral Jagani It was a very successful program conducted by JSH with over 2000 plus participants all over the world. We will continue to similar program in future. We just need all of you to come forward and be part of new ideas and initiatives. Online JSH JinPuja e-Shibir (June 28) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Viral Jagani, Mihir and Karika Shah, Preeti Jain, Karuna Bhandari. Details:The purpose of the e-Shibir is to teach kids the meaning of Ashtprakari puja. Live demonstration and detail explanation of: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Basis steps before Puja Seven Shuddhis, Ten Triks Types of Puja Ashta Prakari Puja Navangi Puja Chaityavandan Vidhi Arti-Mangal Divo Over 150 people participated in Asthaprakari Puja Shibir including 35 kids. 7. Online Tapovan e-Shibir (July11- July18) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Mihir and Karika Shah, Lopa Shah, Prisha Gandhi, Khusbu Patrawala, Nital Shah and Samarth Gandhi Details:We would like to share that JSH had Organized Online Tapovan NRI Shibir - 2020 online this summer. More than 170 Kids had participated in this shibir. Shibir was from 11th July to 18th July, 2020. Kids from Various Sanghs of USA (Detroit, LA and Chicago) also joined the 8 day e-Shibir. You all will be surprised to see the knowledge of Jainism received by participants during the Shibir. Some of the main learnings are as follows:1. Asthaprakari Puja 2. Kumarpal Raja Aarti 3. Tirth Darshan and Bhav Yatra 4. Matru Pitru vandan 5. Understanding of 4 Ghati karamas 6. Practical Hands on Ghauli making 7. Various stories of Chandkaushik, Punya Sharavak, Bhadrabahu and Varahmihir 8. Art vs Science 9. Jain Way of Life 10. TPL league- where students have to convince friends and family to do Navkar Mantra and Samayik 8. Pravachan by Gurudev Shree Namramuni Maharaj Saheb followed by Bhakti Bhavna Manhar Udhas, Chintan Bakiwala & Rishabh Doshi. and LIVE Girnarji Tirth Darshan (July 25) Volunteers:- Kamlesh Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Chaital Shah, Viral Jagani Details:We had a very successful event with the blessings of Gurudev Shree Namramuni Maharaj Saheb. We had almost 4000+ views of this program and participants from India and USA. Gurudev’s pravachan was followed by great Bhakti bhavna by Rishabh Doshi and Live Darshan of Girnarji Tirth. The event was initiated by JSH but we were able to bring more than 13+ other Jain Centers along with us. The program will be followed by Bhakti Bhavna from Manhar Udhas, Chintan Bakiwala & Rishabh Doshi. 9. Laghu Siddhachakra e- Pujan (August 2) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Viral Jagani, Meena Kapasi, Preeti Jain, Karuna Bhandari, Amita Solanki, Mihir and Karika Shah and Nilesh Shah Details:JSH volunteers performed online Laghu Siddhachakra Pujan Shibir. In this pujan shibir around 100 plus members participated with over 25 kids. The Siddhachakra Yantra is the most auspicious Yantra in the Jain Religion. The word ‘Siddha’ means liberated soul and ‘Chakra’ means freedom from the karmic cycle. ‘Yantra’ means a mystical diagram. When one worships the Siddhachakra Yantra ones soul becomes liberated from all Ghati karmas. The Yantra represents the whole Jain Dharma which are the nine elements (Nav Pad) and the protective deities. 10. Bhakti Bhavna and Paryushan Information Session (Aug 8 and Aug 14) Volunteers:- Chaital Shah, Kalpesh Shah, Viral Jagani, Prerna Shah, Preeti Jain, Karuna Bhandari, Bhairavi Parikh, Nitesh Shah, Nayan Shah and Vaibhav Shah JSH organized two Pre-Paryushan Bhakti Bhavna programs followed by Paryushan Information session and LIVE Boli. We had over 150 plus members participated in each events. Our Bhavna team performed LIVE Bhakti Bhavna from dersar for the first time since Pandemic.
