From the movie Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Marriage did play an important role at that time as most of the women were willing to find their own space and seek their true love. But it is an uneasy task for women to seek their true love because of the patriarchal society at that time, they have to listen to their parents of the decision making of their marriage, but because of their family within their means but well short of money, Mrs.bennet was constantly trying to set up dating for her daughter with eligible bachelors like Mr.Darcy but it did not turn out good at first. Besides that, as a woman in the 18 century, when women get older, there will be more judgment like reputation and gossip from others. For example, there is a scene when the wealthy woman Caroline Bingley reacts with shock and disgust when Elizabeth arrives at netherfield with muddy skirts. Which it reflects the reputation at that time can affect how other people she is treated in society at that time. After I have watched this movie I would say my favorite scene is the moment when Darcy and Elizabeth are both finally on the same page. because It taught me that timing is everything, we have to meet someone you love in the right place and have a similar mindset. Apart from that, we have learned from the mentality to let go of control. From the movie Elizabeth did not force anything or chase after Mr. Darcy. She stood her ground and respected herself enough to reject his first proposal. While Mr. Darcy proved himself and made the effort.which I respect his attitude of proving himself.
