Overview:
This program is suitable for everyone. All employees at all levels can apply the lean tools and techniques
to identify and remove waste from their processes
This program is designed to train participants on how to use key Lean methods and tools to improve
value streams and create value for customers. In this program you will learn how to:

Lead with Lean
Employ the key principles of what is valued-added in a process to attain value stream
improvement in your organization
Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and remove waste from your value streams
Create current state and your improved future state value stream
Construct and implement process controls to hold significant gains
Achieve significant results that affect the bottom line
The program begins with self-paced learning on our learning platform, IMPRO, to give you a basic
understanding of what needs to be learned, and then is augmented with live instructor-led webinars with a
certified Juran instructor to reinforce learning points and provide onsite collaboration experience.
Throughout training and after, candidates work 1-on-1 in a mentorship program with their Juran Certified
Coach to deliver a completed value stream improvement project. A completed project means using the
appropriate methodology and tools correctly to achieve stated operational and financial objectives, as
established in the project charters. Achieving results is critical and is a requirement for certification

experience and your organization’s financial performance.
Complete a value stream improvement project to showcase your newly learned skill and achieve
operational and financial objectives.
Lean Expert Certification Requirements:
To attain Juran’s Lean Expert Certification, the participant must complete the following requirements:
1. Successfully complete Lean Expert training with active participation (complete all online modules
and attend all live webinar sessions for online workshops).
2. Pass the open book, online exam, with a score of 70% or greater, within one month from the last
day of training. The exam will unlock in IMPRO once you complete the last module in training. If
you have any questions please click on the “help” button on IMPRO.
3. Successfully complete a Lean project within 1 year from the last day of training. This project is
carried out during the course of the training (successful completion is defined as “using the Lean
methodology to correctly achieve operational and financial objectives”). Supporting project
templates and checklists can be found in the project files sent to you or in our Knowledge Base.
4. Submit a final project report (e-copy) to your Juran Certifier.
5. Successfully complete the project review with your Juran Certifier (the candidate presents his/her
project and answers questions posed by the Juran Certifier).
6. If a second review of your project is required, there is an additional fee.
Upon successful review of your project, the participant will electronically receive a certificate stating that
they are “Juran Lean Expert Certified.”

be completed at your own pace, minimising the impact on essential day-to-day business operations. Our
focus is to close the quality skill gaps witnessed in thousands of organizations around the world.
In addition to the self paced learning and instructor led webinars hosted on IMPRO, you will have access
to our Knowledge Base as well. The IMPRO Knowledge Base is Juran’s self service way to transfer
knowledge to our customers to improve performance. It is a quick and easy way to search for anything
quality management related to find an answer, a template, a tool, or browse through our published
articles. The Knowledge Base will be continuously updated with new content as we strive to incorporate
all 75 years of Juran’s research and experience.
