Dear Sir/Madam,
RE: APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF MARKETING COORDINATOR
I hereby apply for the above referenced post that was advertised in your organization. This is an
ideal job for me - given my qualifications, work experience and enthusiasm to work with smallscale farmers.
As you will notice from my CV, I hold a bachelor of Agribusiness Management of Makerere
University and a National Diploma in Agribusiness Management of Bukalasa Agricultural
College. You would also notice that I attended several tailor-made practical capacity building
trainings for career enrichment, making me suitably fit for the above position.
I have more than five (5) years working experience, with various organizations and/institutions as:
Marketing Coordinator, Project Officer, Assistant Lecturer and so forth. I am a great team player
and I have good presentation skills that will add value in such a key position in your organization
and/or project.
I am a very hard working, time conscious and self-driven person. I do my work diligently and I
shall work for the best of your satisfaction when given the opportunity.
Attached overleaf are a copy of my Curriculum Vitae (CV) and academic credentials.
I look forward to being invited for an interview to discuss the possibility of joining such a thrilling
project/program.
Thanks.
Yours faithfully,
Abola Sam

Career Destiny: I am a trained agribusiness professional, with over 5 years work
experience in agriculture domain, making me both technically focused and resultoriented. I am looking for a job that is both challenging and rewarding in order to
apply the practical project management knowledge and skills acquired over years
in the effective management of a project designed in the context of transforming
small-scale farmers from subsistence to market-oriented farming. This is because
such a job would pretty much fit my vision of seeing small-scale farmers in Africa
practice Farming as a Business (FaaB), NOT as a last resort to livelihoods source.
This is because the future of farming in Africa ten years to come shall not lie in
agriculture, BUT agribusiness.

Accomplishments


As marketing coordinator, I initiated market multi-stakeholder meetings in Zombo
district. Here, different market players/actors come together on agreed dates,
time and place to deliberate on relevant marketing issues. The initiative enabled
increased business negotiations between buyers and sellers, hence it partly led to
the success of collective marketing of farmers’ produce in the district. Input
dealers on the other hand, got a platform to explain their offerings to potential
buyers (farmers).
As assistant lecturer of Agribusiness Management, Bukalasa Agricultural College,
I enabled students/learners to see (mentally) enormous opportunities within the
African agribusiness industry/sector. For instance, many students I trained
(mentored and/or couched) are doing tremendous work in the field now, both as
employees as well as agri-preneurs.
