DCS Advisor v6.0 Applications B0860RS, Rev H • LocalWatch Server and Client applications • File Services • FERRETLite • Station Access Manager Enhancements • The version of NextNine software has been upgraded to v4.9 Media • v6.0 Server Applications (CG500GE, Rev E) • v6.0 Data Acquisition Software (CG500GF, Rev F) 7 DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Chapter 2: Enhancements Chapter 2: Enhancements Simplified DAS Install The DAS software now contains a new Station Manager interface that greatly simplifies the DAS installation process. This display can scan the entire customer site and report back which stations have DAS installed and which version of DAS is running. You can then install the newest version of DAS remotely and make all configuration settings like Site Prefix, DCS Advisor server IP address, and Mailbox. 8 B0860RS, Rev H Chapter 3: Operational Recommendations DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Chapter 3: Operational Recommendations 50 Series DCS Advisor Data Acquisition Software (DAS) Currently there are no 50 Series DCS Advisor DAS operational recommendations. 70 Series DCS Advisor DAS for I/A Series v7.0 through v8.4.4 RW_WinExec_Service The _WinExec_Service logs events to a flat text log file located in the d:\opt\fox\bin \remote\tools\DAS\Logs directory and to the Windows® Event Log under the Application section. _WinExec_Service operational parameters such as its periodic execution rate for the probe scripts, logging enable/disable, start delay can be adjusted via a flat text INI file that is located in the d:\opt\fox\bin\remote\tools\DAS\cfg directory. It is strongly recommended that the Execution_Interval be NO LESS than 60 minutes and the default Run_Interval be NO LESS than 5 seconds. _WinExec_Service executes probe scripts based on entries in the tasklist.csv file. The tasklist.csv file is updated to contain an extra field for a time-out value. This time-out value is used as a watchdog timer such that if the script takes too long (hangs for some reason), it can be terminated automatically by the service instead of hanging the whole DAS application. If a certain probe script is constantly timing out, the timer value can be lengthened up to a maximum of 15 minutes. distribute_mbxCfg.vbs File Not Found Error The distribute_mbxCfg.vbs program stops with a File Not Found Error message. This occurs when the FistHost.txt file cannot be found in the d:\opt\fox\bin\remote \tools\DAS\install\mbxCfg folder. If this occurs, copy the FistHost.txt file from the d: \opt\fox\bin\remote\tools\DAS\cfg folder to the d:\opt\fox\bin\remote\tools\DAS \install\mbxCfg folder. This does not occur on the station used to install the 70 Series DCS Advisor DAS software. Operating System Resource Usage Data On I/A Series v7.x, v8.0.B, v8.1 and v8.1.1, the operating system performance parameters captured in the opsys.LETTERBUG.xml (where LETTERBUG is replaced with 70 Series station letterbug) may not be accurate. This is caused by the MS WMI interface and in most cases is solved by installing all the MS Patches specified at https://support.ips.invensys.com/content/Security/mspatch/XP.ASP are installed. Even with the patches installed the free physical memory value is not correct. 70 Series DCS Advisor DAS for I/A Series v8.5 through Control Core Services v9.x Currently there are no operational recommendations for 70 Series DAS for I/A Series v8.5 through Foxboro DCS Control Core Services v9.x. B0860RS, Rev H 9 DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Chapter 3: Operational Recommendations Station Access Manager Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10 stations only allow one user to be logged in at a time. When connecting using Remote Desktop to a Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 10 station, if another user is currently logged in then they will be logged off and you will resume their session. If this functionality is not desired, you can disable Remote Desktop for the stations in the Configuration Tool found in the Start menu. When connecting to a Windows XP, Windows 7, or Windows 10 station with Remote Desktop, the NetOp host application stops functioning properly. Any subsequent attempts to connect with NetOp will be unsuccessful until the NetOp Host software is restarted on the station. This applies to NetOp v9.0 and earlier. Foxboro File Services If a DCS Advisor Server is hosting two or more Foxboro DCS or I/A Series systems and the site prefixes containing a hyphen (-), FERRET data files will not be processed unless the following changes are made to the d:\resource_das\bin\isconfig.xml file. These lines need to be changed (all the lines are contained in the ISDBService section of the file): Was: Change to: <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,-,_] *_station\.fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,\-,_]*_station \.fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,-,_] *_system\.fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,\-,_]*_system \.fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,-,_] *_som\.fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,\-,_]*_som\. fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,-,_] *_rsom\.fer$</filepattern> <filepattern>.*\\ferret_out\\[A-Z,a-z,0-9,\-,_]*_rsom\. fer$</filepattern> Each change escapes the hyphen by adding a \ before the hyphen, otherwise the hyphen is processed as a regular expression command and not as a character to match. LocalWatch See DCS Advisor v6.0 LocalWatch Release Notes (B0860RV) for LocalWatch operational recommendations. NextNine Virtual Service Engineer This upgrade requires no NextNine VSE changes. NOTE: NextNine Virtual Service Engineer has not been qualified for this release of the DCS Advisor Server Day0 image (C22). 10 B0860RS, Rev H Chapter 3: Operational Recommendations DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Adding Devices (I/A Series or Foxboro DCS Workstations) Stations are added to the NextNine installation by creating a comma-delimited (csv) data file and running a script or manually adding one-at-a-time through the NextNine application. This section explains how to add all stations using the provided software. NOTE: Before device objects may be added, Global Customer Support must have downloaded the latest rule base (product line distribution). Contact the Global Customer Support DCS Advisor Administrator to help ensure that the latest version has been downloaded to the server. Creating the Device List Before running the Add_Device application, verify that an entry exists in LocalWatch for each station that you want to add to NextNine. 1. Figure 2 - VSE - Device List B0860RS, Rev H 13 DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Chapter 4: Installation Notes Chapter 4: Installation Notes 50 Series DCS Advisor Data Acquisition Software (DAS) The 50 Series DAS version software is installed without having to uninstall the previous version. NOTE: The 50 Series DAS for Solaris stations was frozen at v4.0. If version.txt reads v4.0, the newer version of DCS Advisor DAS software will not update the DCS Advisor DAS v4.0 software to the newer version. NOTE: The 50 Series installation had been moved to the Legacy folder on the install media. 70 Series DCS Advisor DAS for I/A Series v7.0 through v8.4 NOTE: It is important that you know the 70_Series_DAS package has been frozen at DAS v5.1.1 and will not be released with future versions of DAS. If v5.1.1 is already installed on the station no action needs to be taken. If v5.1.1 is not installed then you must contact your GCS representative if you need to obtain a copy of DAS v5.1.1. NOTE: DAS v5.1.1 will display as v5.1 in Control Panel and the version.txt file. NOTE: The 70 Series installation for I/A Series v7.0 through v8.4 has been moved to the Legacy folder on the install media. Refer to the installation prerequisites in Chapter 2 of DCS Advisor v6.0 Data Acquisition System (DAS) Installation Guide (B0860BT). If the DAS is already installed on the I/A Series AW70, WSTA70, or WSVR70 workstations, it must be uninstalled prior to installing DAS v5.3. Refer to DCS Advisor v6.0 Data Acquisition System (DAS) Installation Guide (B0860BT). DAS v5.1.1 should be installed from a command window with the screen buffer properties set for 200 characters across and at least 300 lines down. You can follow the progress of the installation process on the command window. Refer to Chapter 2 of B0860BT. The installation process details the instructions for setting the screen buffer properties. It is vital that the Windows Simple File Sharing property be disabled on each 70 Series workstation that is to have DAS installed. See document B0860BT. If Simple File Sharing is enabled, the installation process cannot remotely install DAS to other workstations on the network. The installation script may terminate with a Permission Denied or Access Denied message. Setting the Default Scripting Interface to CScript The default scripting engine for the Windows® Operating System is WScript. This must be changed to CScript for proper scripting operation. For the purposes of the _DAS installation, this procedure only needs to be performed on the workstation where the installation will be initiated. 1. In a command window (Start > Run cmd) enter wscript//H:cscript and press <Enter>. 2. A dialog box specifying CScript will be displayed. 14 B0860RS, Rev H Chapter 4: Installation Notes DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Figure 3 - CScript Confirmation 3. Click OK. Uninstalling 70 Series DCS Advisor DAS v3.0/v3.1 for I/A Series v7.0 through v8.4 1. Insert the CD (part number CG500GF) into the CD drive. 2. Open a command window to E:\70_Series_DAS. 3. Execute the script SetScriptMode.vbs. 4. Execute the script 70__Uninstall.vbs. This script may take some time to execute especially if the _Winexec_Service is pending on completion of a data acquisition task before it can be stopped and removed. B0860RS, Rev H 15 DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Chapter 4: Installation Notes 5. On some 70 Series stations, after the password is entered two additional dialog boxes are displayed. Figure 4 - After Installation Dialog Box If this dialog box is displayed, wait 30 seconds and click Next. When a dialog box appears indicating that the installation has ended, click Finish, ignoring the text contained in the dialog box. Figure 5 - Finish Admin Install Dialog Box 16 B0860RS, Rev H Chapter 4: Installation Notes DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes 6. To verify that the un-install operation executed properly, check the Add/Remove Software applet on the workstations and verify the package 70_Series__DAS_x. x is not present This completes the removal of the 70 Series DAS software (v3.0/v3.1) on 70 Series workstations with I/A Series software v7.x and v8.0 through v8.4. 70 Series DCS Advisor DAS for I/A Series v8.5 through Control Core Services v9.x The 70 Series DAS is installed using the DCS Advisor v6.0 Data Acquisition System (DAS) Installation Guide (B0860BT). If the DAS is already installed on the I/A Series AW70, WSTA70, or WSVR70 workstations, the DAS must be uninstalled prior to installing DAS v6.0. Refer to DCS Advisor v6.0 Data Acquisition System (DAS) Installation Guide (B0860BT). Foxboro File Services Software The Foxboro File Services software is installed per DCS Advisor v6.0 Upgrade Guide (B0860BR). LocalWatch LocalWatch is installed using DCS Advisor v6.0 Upgrade Guide (B0860BR). See DCS Advisor v6.0 LocalWatch Release Notes (B0860RV) for any special installation instructions. Station Access Manager The Station Access Manager (SAM) application utilizes several third-party applications to initiate remote sessions to other stations. These applications include NetOp Remote Control Guest, FileZilla™ FTP Client, and Hummingbird Exceed. It is recommended that these applications are installed prior to installing the SAM application, although this is not necessary. If any of these applications are not installed, that functionality will not work in SAM application. They can be installed at a later time and configured using the Configuration Tool. NetOp and Exceed require valid licenses to run properly. FileZilla is open software and an installation package can be found on the SAM installation CD. NetSight Server/Console Application You can install the NetSight Server/Console application, contained on the NetSight Console CD (K0174HZ), on the DCS Advisor Server model codes C15, C16, C17, C18, C20, C20B, and C21. NetSight is not supported on DCS Advisor Server models prior to C15. This is an optional feature that has an additional charge. NOTE: NetSight console has not been qualified to run on Windows Server 2016. Because of this, it is not recommended to install NetSight console on the C22 server running Windows Server 2016. You can install the NetSight Console application on a DCS Advisor Server as described in B0700EJ using the steps for installation on a I/A Series/FCS B0860RS, Rev H 17 DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Chapter 4: Installation Notes Workstations (standard edition), with this exception: the Turning Off/Disabling and the Turning On/Enabling Virus Scan steps are skipped. The NetSight Console application uses a second network (a network other than the Foxboro DCS Control Network) to communicate with the NetSight sever located on an I/A Series or Foxboro DCS workstation The NetSight Server application requires the DCS Advisor Server to be directly connected to the control network for the purpose of communicating with switches on the control network. This connection is only to be used to communicate with the switches in the control network and is NOT to be used for communication between the DCS Advisor Server and I/A Series or Foxboro stations. This solution is only applicable at customer sites that will allow the connection between the DCS Advisor Server and the control network, some sites may not allow this connection. You can install a firewall (or similar security device) that only allows com- munications between the DCS Advisor Server and the IP address associated with switches on the control network. The IP address range of switches on the control network is 151.128.81.1 to 152.128.81.254. Prerequisites 1. Determine the Ethernet media type between the DCS Advisor Server and the control network, that is, copper or fiber: • If the media type is fiber, then a fiber network adapter and a fiber cable need to be ordered and installed in the server. The fiber network adapter part number is P0923LU. • If the media type is copper and the server has an available (unused) Ethernet adapter port then only the interconnect cable is required. • If the media type is copper and the server does not have an available (unused) ethernet adapter, then a P0924FD, copper network adapter, must be installed in the server and an interconnect cable is required. 2. Determine if the 151.128.191.254 IP address is in conflict with an IP address used by an I/A station. The last two octets for I/A Series or Foxboro stations are contained in the d:\usr\fox\sp\IIF.prm file and are specified in the ADRIP1 parameter for each station (without the "." between the octets and leading 0s added). The simplest method to check for an IP address conflict is to use grep as follows: a. Open a cmd window on any of the I/A Series System AWs, WSTA70s, or WSVR70s. b. Select the d: drive. c. Change directory to d:\usr\fox\sp d. Enter this grep command: grep 191254 IIF.prm” If the grep command results in output, then the IP address is in use by I/A Series software, contact Global Customer Support Center at https://pasupport. schneider-electric.com to determine what IP address to use for the server. If the grep command results in no output, then there is no IP address conflict and the 151.128.191.254 address can be used for the server. Continue with the configuration of the network adapter. 18 B0860RS, Rev H Chapter 4: Installation Notes DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes 3. Next, configure the network adapter on the DCS Advisor Server that is being used for connection to the control network as follows: a. Open the properties for the network adapter. b. Clear all protocols except for Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). NOTE: Some protocols like Broadcom Advanced Server Program Drive, and so forth, cannot be cleared, this is normal and the configuration can continue. c. Click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click Properties. d. On the General tab, select Use the following IP address. e. Enter 151.128.191.254 as the IP address. f. Enter 255.255.0.0 as the Subnet mask. g. Leave the Default gateway blank. h. Then, click the Advanced… button. i. Select the WINS tab. j. On the WINS tab: • Clear Enable LMHOSTS lookup • Select Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP • Next, click OK k. On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click OK. l. Click the Configure button m. Select the Advanced Tab. n. Select Speed & Duplex and set to 100Mb Full. o. Select Flow Control and set to Disabled. p. Click the OK button. Once these three prerequisites are completed, you can install the NetSight Server application as described in NetSight Console for the Foxboro DCS Control Network User’s Guide (B0700EJ) using the steps for installation on an I/A Series/ FCS Workstations (standard edition), with this exception: the Turning Off/ Disabling and the Turning On/Enabling Virus Scan steps are skipped. The connection between the DCS Advisor Server and the control network is ONLY to be used for NetSight communication with the control network switches. This link MUST NOT BE used for communications between the server and I/A Series stations connected to the control network B0860RS, Rev H 19 DCS Advisor v6.0 Release Notes Appendix A: Issues Resolved Appendix A: Issues Resolved Case: 56539336 Issue on collecting Station/resource Trends on 8R2 and 8R3 RW server Case: 37712947 [Migrated 1316384] I noticed that not all alarms are forwarded to the GCS website (Disk, Frames transmitted) Case: 55219831 Performance Counters not collecting FDC headers correctly.
