Scope of work :- Physical Observation of “ 11, MALCHA MARG,NEW DELHI” Building for
health assessment and Structural Integrity.
Date of Visit :- 07/08/2020
Consultant :- SN Concrete Solutions Pvt Ltd.
Observation :
1. The structure is having RCC Members and walls as load bearing, The structure has
COLUMNS/BEAMS/SLAB and Brick work as load bearing.
2. Structure has undergone with refurbishment underdeck with Guniting and wire Mesh
approx. 10 years back (Data Collected from site)
3. The structural element BEAM (Perimeter and Internal) shows alarming distress and
challenges in Shear Cracks/ Deflections/Flexural and various spawlling from bottom
due to volumetric expansion and corrosion .
4. Column shows Cracking and Bulging / Cover throw off and strain at various locations.
5. Slab shows Cracks/Deflections along with spawlling of Cover and guniting with
various Non bonding and Tangential stresses.
6. The monolithic behaviour of the structural element shows disintegration/ Tangential
stresses etc in all the structural element.
7. The Grade of Concrete is Visualized and tested as M10.
REMEDIAL MEASURES PROPOSED
BEAMS :
1. Cleaning of the surface/ loose material, Delaminated concrete by controlled cutting/
dismantling / chipping , complete after erection of Cup lock support system.
2. Removal / Chipping of cover from the bottom of beam and other foreign loose
materials if any.
3. Cleaning of corroded bars and Converting the Corroded steel by application of Rust
Converter.
4. Application of High Strength repair mortar/ Polymer Modified Mortar of Grade M30 or
above complete after application of Bonding agent.
5. Allowing it to cure for its Optimum technical properties.
6. Injection of Low Viscous Epoxy after drilling/fixing of NRV packers at mentioned C/C
distance and Injection with resin by electrically driven Injection Pump.
7. Fixing of Carbon Laminate 100 mm x 1.4 mm and providing end anchorage at the
support .
8. Plastering over the Post strengthened beams.
SLAB :
1. Providing cuplock support system in the areas of Refurbishment/ Strengthening etc
2. Controlled removal of Entire Guniting and wire mesh and disposing off to required
lead and lift.
3. Cleaning of corroded bars and Converting the Corroded steel by application of Rust
Converter.
4. Cutting of core from the top of the terrace of 50 mm dia @ required distance.
5. Fixing of shear Connectors and providing additional reinforcement at the bottom of
slab with 12mm / 10mm @ 125 in shorter-Longer span complete with the transfer of
load of the slab in beams after rebarring.
6. Providing of shuttering (Watertight) with well supported to refurbish underdeck.
7. Placing Micro concrete (Dual shrinkage Compensated thixotropic Free flow)
complete after mixing with defined W/P ratio of Grade > M45 .
8. Allowing it to cure for its Optimum technical properties.
9. Injection of Low Viscous Epoxy after drilling/fixing of NRV packers at mentioned C/C
distance and Injection with resin by electrically driven Injection Pump.
10. Allowing the material to get cured for its optimum technical properties.
COLUMN :1. Cleaning of the surface/ loose material, Delaminated concrete by controlled cutting/
dismantling / chipping , complete after erection of Cup lock support system.
2. Repairing of Crack by cutting/ fixing of NRV Packers and Injection with low viscous
epoxy and filling the crack with Thixotropic Mortar.
