Institute For Post Graduate Teaching And Research In Ayurveda(IPGT&RA), has been identified as
Intermediary Pharmacovigilance Centre for Ayurveda in India. Under this programme 9 Regional and 30
peripheral centres are working across the country. A Two days National Consultative meet has been
organised by the Institute under financial support from WHO country office, India at the conference Hall
of department of AYUSH, New Delhi on 29th & 30th August 2008. The National protocol of
Pharmacovigilance ASU & H drugs was finalised in the meeting along with this different IPvC and PPvC
throughout the country were also identified. As the concept of Pharmacovigilance in ASU drug is new,
the experts emphasised on training the trainers who can properly sensitise the matter among mass for
better implementation of the programme. Hence it is thought to organise a workshop where the
trainers, who are the anticipated coordinators of near future, with the concepts and background of the
Pharamcovigilance system which can be disseminated across the country.

Total 50 coordinators of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani (ASU & H) , across the country (at least one from each
state from Ayurveda, Unani & Siddha) shall be invited to be trained as trainer of Pharmacovigilance for ASU
& H drugs. The training module will be prepared by the Intermediary Pharmacovigilance Centre for
Ayurveda. Reputed resource persons shall be invited to deliver lectures to the trainees.

Total 50 Teachers of Ayurveda, Siddha Unani(ASU) and Research officers from different ASU
research councils, across the country designated as coordinators of IPvCs and PPvCs ( at least one
from each state) shall be invited to be trained as trainer of Pharmacovigilance. The training module
will be prepared by the National pharmacovigilance Resource Centre ASU drugs. Resource persons
shall be invited to deliver lectures to the trainees. 250 trainees shall be invited to present their
research papers.
