Introduction of Chakwal Institute of Arts & Design
The concept of Chakwal Institute of Arts & Design is driven form the arts
related institutions operating around the country for the development and
promotion of their regional and cultural heritage. Chakwal Institute of Arts
& Design is intended to play the same role for the community of Chakwal.
Chakwal the region is richly blessed with the natural landscapes and has
been bestowed by rich culture, history, art and extravagant environment.
Further the community of Chakwal is enriched with the arts loving and arts
related members who are contributing in various forms of Fine Arts as
Writers, Poets, Painters, Calligraphers, Sculpturists, Wood Carvers,
Musicians and many more.
To facilitate and promote the arts community of Chakwal, in 2012 Chakwal
Arts Council started working and was recognized as a registered entity,
and since then working in preserving and promoting the arts relevant
activities.
Chakwal is consecrated with fantastic artists of almost every faculty and
level of arts, which may be a source to multiply the skills and skillful
community that may portray a positive complexion of the region and the
nation.
Vision & Mission Statement
Vision
To meet the requirements of creativity part of educational front, and to
enable the fresh and senior artists of Chakwal to face the upcoming
challenges of 21st century and future, and bringing Chakwal in fine arts
mainstream.
Mission
To provide Arts education options with Certificate and Diploma programs
in the fields of Art and Design facilitating the national effort of filling the
massive educational gap that exists in the creativity industry.
Need Assessment
Chakwal Arts Council represents a community of approximately
1,800,000 people with an indigenous back ground and very presentable
historical and cultural values. Since 1985 when Chakwal was declared
a “District”, it has developed in basic human standards as education,
medical, economy, agriculture, law and tourism etc. but one of the
basic class ignored was of the Fine Arts. Fine Arts are a major pillar in
development of a standard society, it provides softness and creativity
to the education systems that provide skillful and learned youth to
protect and improve the future for generations to come.
University of Chakwal (Chakwal College of Arts & Science) is the mother
organization to all the education systems operating in Chakwal, and in
collaboration with Chakwal Arts Council we vision to bring forward the
talent and skills of the youth through proper learning and
administrative promotions.
Chakwal Institute of Arts & Design is a combined venture of the arts
related community and the education administration of Chakwal the
region, and will be a source to create vision and skills that may
contribute in the national development and a better world.
AN INTRODUCTION TO FINE ART
Explore Fine Art and Careers in Arts and Culture Industries
The Introduction to Fine Art Program Certificate is designed for students interested in
exploring fine art and related careers in arts and culture industries. Students explore
strategies to handle a professional artist career with fulfilling employment in the arts
and culture sector. They experience hands-on training in painting, drawing, printmaking,
sculpture and digital media. A variety of careers are introduced as well as essential
business skills required to work as a professional artist. Career paths include the
following: gallery administration and management, art education, art conservation and
restoration, museum programming, municipal arts programming, photography, graphic
design, interior decorating and more.
YOUR EDUCATION OPTIONS
Fine art students can apply to another program at the College or continue their studies
in Chakwal College of Arts & Science (University of Chakwal) Diploma program. Most of
the skills are beneficial in presentations during formal education. Students may use
portfolios prepared in this program to apply for a Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) at the
university level or otherwise for the career as a professional artist. Students apply to
programs at Chakwal Institute of Arts & Design including the following: Drawing,
Painting, Digital arts, Photography, Graphic Design, and Interior Decorating.
