Theme : Next Generation Sensors & Detectors - Sub Theme : Next Generation Sensors & Detectors Sensors and detectors are essential components in modern consumer electronics. Every day we utilize such components in order to communicate with our environment. Among present sensing technologies, optical ones are inevitable to our products since their non-invasive nature and versatile functionalities. For example, image sensor, HR monitor, gesture sensor are generally accepted in our smartphones. In the future, however, highly improved performance and new functionality would be expected in the sensor devices. We are aiming to find new applications on optical sensing/imaging in various wavelength region. Through innovative ideas with unprecedented optical technologies we would like to overcome limitation of present sensing performance and capabilities. - Optical / IR / THz spectral sensing/imaging technologies for bio health, chemical sensing applications - Metamaterial / plasmonics/ photonic crystal technologies for overcoming limitations of present optical component such as physical dimension and optical diffraction. - New camera architecture for reducing thickness of camera module of smartphone. ※ The topics are not limited to the above examples and the participants are encouraged to propose original idea.
