YEAR 9 ASSIGNMENT – REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES
A reproductive technology is the use of a technology to assist human reproduction.
It includes:
 IVF (in-vitro fertilisation)
 Surrogacy
 AI (artificial insemination).
These technologies are beneficial to humans for many different reasons but there are also
negative issues to consider. Increasingly, people are turning to these technologies to help
them have children and all of these technologies cost money.
Your task: There are TWO parts to the task
1. You will be creating an advertisement to “sell” one of these technologies to potential
parents. Your advertisement can be for TV, radio or the internet.
You will need to consider the following when making your advertisement:
 It should concentrate on ONE reproductive technology
 It should make potential parents aware of the positive aspects of this technology
 It should explain to people how the technology is carried out
 It should include the cost to parents
 It should be creative….remember, you are trying to SELL your technology so make it
interesting and try to persuade people to use it.
Your advertisement must be presented as a video, powtoon , comic strip or slide show
(there are numerous apps that you can use to create a short video or slide show such as
Powtoon, video maker, pixton comic maker…just to name a few!).

example of how the company is trying to market the technology.
