INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
Packet recirculation module (BRM) can be used for receiving and checking
banknotes that are either in storage or re-sent for issuance, in bundles of up to
300 banknotes (for new banknotes; the maximum number of old banknotes in a
bundle will be less). Placement and issue of banknotes is carried out through the
cash accepting mechanism of an ATM. Banknotes are inserted across (long
side).
BRM consists of an upper module located in an ATM cabinet and a lower module
located in a safe. They are connected by a short intermediate tape drive
mechanism through the upper wall of the safe.
In the lower module are four recycle cassettes and one exception cassette.
Depending on the software configuration, the exception cassette has three
separate zones for processing fake, unaccepted, or crumpled bills. The upper
module also has an optional upper exception tray.

Safety Information
If available, be sure to use colored handles and locks to access and maintain the
modules, as described in the instructions. Different colors are used to indicate
elements with different functions.
●
Orange​: access to modules.
Always use the orange handles, clips, or levers to remove the modules from
the ATM.
●
Green​: operator interface.
Use green elements, such as locks and wheels, to work with the modules:
replenish, clear a jam, empty, or clean.
●
Yellow​: Safe lifting points. Only for second level service.
To reduce the likelihood of equipment damage or personal injury, follow the
safety guidelines for regular ATM service.
ATTENTION
Never insert tools, pens or other objects into the ATM or into
the module if such instructions are not in the manual. Make
sure that your hair, clothes or jewelry are not stuck in the ATM.
Retractable elements may not be used as a shelf or workstation.

Status

The ATM has two panels of general indicators: one of them is in the upper
cabinet, and the other is in the safe of the lower module.

about almost empty or almost full recycling cassettes during normal operation of
the ATM due to fluctuations in the levels of issuing and receiving.
Indicators of individual zones
On the side of the upper and lower modules is a diagram of the individual zones
of the module with status indicators that help localize the malfunction.

Empty the upper and lower trays of exceptions, if ​the state of light the lower

banknotes, it is not necessary to empty them:

Emptying the top exception tray
1. Open the top module as described in the general ATM manual.
2. Open the tape drive on the upper exception tray using the green latch.

3. Remove the upper exception tray from the tape drive. Remove the security
seal (if used), open the tray with the green lock and remove the banknotes.

4. Close the tray, install a security seal if necessary, and install the tray on the
tape drive.
5. Close the tray’s tape drive mechanism by clicking on the green circle at the
top to secure the tray with the latch.
6. Insert the top module into the ATM. Make sure that the latches are closed
and that ​the general status indicator of the​ top module is green.
7. Follow your organization’s reporting procedures for emptying the top
exception tray.

Emptying the lower exception tray or reception tray
1. Open the lower module as described in the general ATM manual.
2. Use the green handle to remove the exception tray from the BRM.
3. Remove the security seal (if used) and open the tray by first opening the latch
on the bottom and then lifting its upper part.

4. Remove the banknotes from the receiving area or press the green zone to
move the pressure plate down and remove the banknotes from exception
zone 1 or 2.
5. Install the cover on the tray and secure it with the latch, first lifting the upper
part of the latch and then pressing on its lower part. Reinstall the security seal
if necessary.
6. Insert an empty input tray into the BRM.
7. Insert the bottom module back into the ATM. Make sure that the latches are
closed and that ​the general status indicator of the​ top module is green.
8. Follow your organization’s reporting procedures for emptying the receive tray
or lower exception tray.
Empty cassettes
1. Open the bottom module as described in the general instructions for the ATM.
2. Use the green handle on the side of the bottom module to fully open it and
access the cassettes.

3. Use the green knob to remove the cassette completely (1, 2, 3, or 4 according
to the error message) from the lower module.

4. Remove the security seal (if used) and open the cassette by first opening the
latch from below and then lifting its upper part. Remove the cover from the
cartridge.
5. Grasp the green areas to move the pressure plate down to the edge of the
cassette and lock it. Remove the banknotes.
6. While holding the pressure plate, press the green tab to release it. Remember
that it is spring loaded and can move abruptly. The plate should return to the
edge on which the handle of the cartridge is located.

7. Install the cover on the cassette and secure it with the latch, first lifting the
upper part of the latch and then pressing on its lower part. Reinstall the
security seal if necessary.
8. Replace the cartridge in the pack recirculation module.
9. Close the bottom module and insert it back into the ATM. Make sure that the
latches are closed and that ​the general status indicator of the​ top module is
green.
10. Follow your organization’s procedures for reporting empty cassettes.

RECHARGE
TOP-UP
Regularly replenish the cartridges of the BRM module. These messages are
displayed in the ATM error reporting system:
● ​Cassette 1/2/3/4 is empty
● ​Cassette is empty.
1. Open the bottom module as described in the general instructions for the
ATM.
2. Use the green handle on the side of the bottom module to fully open it and
access the cassettes.
3. Use the green knob to remove the cassette completely (1, 2, 3, or 4
according to the error message) from the lower module.

UPDATE
4. Open the hatch on the cassette lid (opposite side to the handle), freeing the
lower part and then lifting the upper part of the hatch. Remove the cover from
the cartridge.
5. Place the cover face up, then place the cartridge on the cover as shown in
the figure so that the cover fits into the slots on the bottom of the cartridge
and the handle of the cartridge is below the edge of the latch. So it will be
more convenient to load banknotes.

6. Grasp the green areas to move the pressure plate to the edge of the cassette
on which the latch is located, and secure it.
7. Prepare banknotes to be used in the drawer by holding a stack of
approximately 100 banknotes in one hand and separating them with the
other. For new banknotes, repeat this several times. When separating
banknotes, remove or correct banknotes with obvious defects, such as:

Tears or punctures
Very worn, soft banknotes
sticking together
Banknotes with bent corners or bent
High-quality preparation of banknotes will improve the module pack recycling.

8. Align the first stack of banknotes by tapping it on both the short and long
sides. Place the pack at the bottom of the cassette, aligning it on the left or
right side.
UPDATE
9. Continue to align and stack the packs in the cassette, changing their
orientation​, as well as the ​side of the cassette on which the packs are
aligned. NOTE. Do not load banknotes in excess of the maximum allowable
level marked on the bottom of the cassette.
10. While holding the pressure plate, press the green tab to release it.
Remember that it is spring loaded and can move abruptly. The plate should
move down and rest against the folded bills.

11. Install the cover on the cassette and secure it with the latch, first lifting
the upper part of the latch and then pressing on its lower part. Reinstall the
security seal if necessary.
12. Replace the full cartridge in the BRM.
13. Close the lower tape drive and insert it into the ATM. Make sure that it is
secured by latches and that ​the general status indicator​ for the bottom
module is green.
14. Follow your organization’s replenishment reporting procedures.

the tape drive. If necessary, open the tray to remove jammed
banknotes.

access to jammed banknotes at the bottom.

Install the tray and close the tray’s tape drive by pressing the green
circle at the top to secure the tray with the lock.

11. In turn, press each of the three green tabs on the tape drive (​D​)
and carefully remove the jammed banknotes. If necessary, rotate the three
green wheels to move the jammed banknote back or forward and facilitate
removal.

13. If there are jammed banknotes, carefully remove them. Do not
touch the glass strip that covers the lenses on the top and bottom of the
banknote check module. If necessary, scroll the green wheel to move the
jammed bill back or forward and make it easier to remove.
14. Close the banknote verification module by pressing on its upper
part until the clips engage.
15.Use the green tabs to open each part of the input tape drive of the
temporary storage module (​F​). Carefully remove jammed banknotes from the
tape drive. Turn the green wheel if necessary.​ ​to move the jammed banknote
back or forward and facilitate removal.

16.Use the green tab to open the tape drive mechanism from the edge
(​B​). Carefully remove jammed banknotes from the tape drive.
17.First, close one half of the module, and then the other (in any
order), making sure that they are tightly locked.
Note: To ​close each half of the module with two hands: First, lift up half of
the module by pressing the large green tab with one hand (1), then press the
small tab with the other hand to release the loop (2). Carefully lower the half
of the module, holding it by the large green handle (3), pressing the small
lock until it completely closes. There is a closing point halfway on the loop. If

half of the module stops at this point, raise it slightly again and continue to
close as instructed.
18. All indicators of the top module on the panel ​status indicator
should be green - this means that there is no jam. If the indicators are red,
return to the indicated area to clear the jam and check that all latches are
closed properly.
19. Insert the top module into the ATM. Make sure that the latches are
tightly closed and that ​the general status indicator​ for the top module is
green.
20. Follow your organization’s reporting procedures for clearing jams.
Clearing a jam in the intermediate module
1. Open the upper module as described in the general instructions for the ATM.
2. Check the base of the ATM for debris or paper jams at the top of the
intermediate tape drive. If possible, carefully clear the jam.

3. Open the bottom module as described in the general instructions for the
ATM.
4. Check the top panel of the safe for debris or paper jams at the bottom of the
intermediate tape drive. If possible, carefully clear the jam.
5. Insert the top module into the ATM. Make sure that the latches are tightly
closed and that ​the general status indicator​ for the top module is green.
6. Follow your organization’s reporting procedures for clearing jams.

1. Open the lower module as described in the general instructions for the ATM.
2. Use the green handle on the end of the tape drive mechanism to open the
tape drive mechanism until it rests on a metal stand. Carefully remove
jammed banknotes from the tape drive.

3. Lower the tape drive mechanism into place using the green handle. Press the
green area at the top to tighten the cover.
4. Use the green handle on the side of the bottom module to open it fully.
Carefully remove the jammed banknotes that are visible under the tape drive
or stick out of the drawers.
5. Remove the cassette from position 1.

6. Open the vertical tape drive mechanism of the cassette using the green lock.
If there are jammed banknotes, carefully remove them.
7. Close the vertical tape drive and use the green tab at the top to move the
entire tape drive away from the bottom exception cassette. Check for jammed

banknotes between the tape drive and the exception cassette, but ​do not
remove them: go to the next step.
8. If there are jammed banknotes, move the vertical tape drive from the lower
exception cartridge, and then remove the exception cartridge to remove
jammed banknotes.
9. Release the vertical tape drive, replace the lower exception cassette if it was
removed, and put the tape into position 1.

10. Close the tape drive with the handle.
11. All indicators of the lower module on the panel of ​status indicators
should be green - this means that there is no jam. If the indicators are red,
return to the indicated area to clear the jam and check that all latches are
closed properly.
12. Insert the bottom module back into the ATM. Make sure that it is
secured by latches and that ​the general status indicator​ for the bottom
module is green.
13. Follow your organization’s reporting procedures for clearing jams.
Clearing a jam in the shutter
From the front of the ATM, the shutter of the packs recirculation module is
located directly on the front of the module, and from the back of the ATM, it is
located inside the front panel.
Access from the front side
1. Open the top module as described in the general instructions for the ATM.
2. Try to carefully remove, without tearing, jammed banknotes or foreign objects
that may interfere with the shutter.
3. If the shutter is closed, slide back the small green lever on the side of the
shutter, and then​ ​ move the shutter by slightly opening it with your palm. If
there are jammed banknotes, carefully remove them.

4. All indicators of the top module on the panel​ ​status indicators​ should be
green - this means no jam. If the indicators are red, return to the indicated
area to clear the jam and check that all latches are closed properly.
5. Insert the top module into the ATM. Make sure that the latches are closed
and that ​the general status indicator​ for the top module is green.
6. Follow your organization’s reporting procedures for clearing jams.
Access from the rear
Check the front panel of the ATM for foreign objects that impede the operation of
the shutters. Report on the detection and removal of foreign objects found
following the service instructions.

CLEANING
CLEANING
To ensure trouble-free operation of the top module, regularly clean it of dust and
debris. Use a lint-free cloth, moistening it with clean water if necessary.
Do not use solvents or detergents, as they may damage the module. It is also
allowed to clean with compressed air, however, it is necessary to pay attention
to the need to ​blow​ dust, preventing its further penetration into the module.
ATTENTION
Be careful not to damage the redirection flaps and sensors during
cleaning.
Upper Module
All areas described in the Jamsection ​Removal​must be cleaned by removing
dust and debris. Pay particular attention to the camera’s glass lenses, sensors,
and black rollers at the top and bottom of the banknote check module, regularly
and thoroughly cleaning them.

Bottom module
Clean all areas described in ​Removing a jam ​by removing dust and debris. Try
not to damage the teeth of the flaps of the redirection mechanism in the
horizontal tape drive.
