Emergency Substitute Lesson Plans Lesson: Please administer and score sections of the SAT practice test. I have included one copy of the test, and one copy of the answer sheet. The remainder of the copies (a class set) are located in a box marked “PRACTICE TESTS” on the top shelf in my classroom (464). When administering the test, please instruct the students to only mark answers on the answer sheet, as you will need to re-use the copies of the practice test throughout the day. Materials: Class set of practice tests (Two sets- Section One and Section Two) Copies of answer sheets (one per student) Copies of answer keys (1/2 sheet- one per student) Absence#1 Administer Section 1- Reading- Total testing time 65 minutes. Please have students complete section one, marking all of their answers on the answer keys provided When they are finished, they should turn in their test packet and their answer key. They should focus on their level of preparedness, topics they found confusing, areas of strengths/weaknesses, etc. (approx. 15 minutes). Absence #2 Distribute the students’ answer keys from the previous section of the test. Administer Section 2- (total testing time 35 minutes) Once all students have completed their tests, please pass out the test answer sheet. Have the students score their tests. Following the test, have the students reflect upon the experience in their journals. They should focus on their level of preparedness, topics they found confusing, areas of strengths/weaknesses, etc. (Approximately 15 min) Please place close attention to time specifications in order to simulate the actual test taking procedures. Students should work independently and shall not be permitted to talk or ask questions. On the real SAT, scores will be cancelled if students talk.
