Introduction
-Welcome to Rikki-tikki-tavi’s quest for knowledge
where you will learn about the different animals that
appear in the story, as well as learn about the author
and his native India.
-Essential Questions: What are some characteristics of
mongooses and cobras? Who was Rudyard Kipling?
What is India like?
The Task
-You will conduct research on Rudyard Kipling, India,
cobras, and mongooses using the websites I have
provided in this WebQuest.
-The final product must demonstrate your knowledge of
the subject matter and must have a bibliography to
document your sources. You may choose your format
for the final product. You may create a brochure
containing facts and pictures of Rudyard Kipling, India,
mongooses, and cobras that is created in Microsoft
Publisher. You may use PowerPoint to create a
presentation, or you may use PhotoStory.
The Process
-Access the chosen websites listed. As you visit the
different websites, you will search for information on
mongooses, cobras, Rudyard Kipling, and India. Take
notes on what you find; you will use the information
you gather to create a brochure, PowerPoint
presentation, or a movie through PhotoStory. Jot
down as much information as you need to create your
project, but you must have at least seven to ten facts
per topic (i.e., seven to ten facts about cobras, seven to
ten facts about mongooses, seven to ten facts about
Rudyard Kipling, and seven to ten facts about India).
Your final product will reflect the hard work you have
applied to your quest for knowledge.
Please be sure to use the Cobb Virtual Library for this
project!!!
