Natural Disaster Choose and Research a Natural Disaster (Hurricane, Typhoon, Drought, Tsunami, Bushfire, Volcanic Eruption, Flood, Earthquake, Avalanche) that has occurred in our World and present your findings as a poster & presentation. You must investigate the following aspects of the disaster and use them as sub-headings in your project: 1. Where, when, what type of disaster occurred. 2. What causes your natural disaster? (e.g. How does an Earthquake happen?) That means how does it form? What causes it to happen? And/or why does your disaster occur? 3. What should you do before, during and after your natural disaster? 4. What affect did your Natural Disaster have on the population? - What kind of damage did your natural disaster cause? (damages to homes, loss of jobs, injury, and/or death) How many people were injured or died from your disaster? 5. What technology is created to monitor or predict your natural disaster? 6. What was the aftermath following your natural disaster? Elements to consider: Your information needs to be written in your own words. Subheadings to divide up your research. Neat presentation skills that show a mixture of information and pictures or diagrams. You will present your project and what you have found out about this disaster to your class (3-5 minutes).
