OLARTE, ROSE ANNE E. AB-ELL3 Let’s Play Game?( Dead Kids) Analysis Our society seems became darker and darker that even young person can do any terrible things and end up losing the game which they set for themselves. The director made sure that his work is of great value because of how the plot is played and the characters portrayed their role as if they are really certain they will succeed in their plans. The whole movie was unpredictable till the end. The story begins with a song No Money No Honey and which basically true in a real world we are living in. The prostitution that became rampant and the governments failure in every way. Chuck a popular rich kid that can actually afford anything. This fast-paced story will take viewers on a wild ride as the kids attempt to pull off the perfect crime in the age of social media. Timely punch lines were brought out such as the smoking, the war on drugs ( Chuck’s father being a drug lord) and a police protecting him which is a relevant topic on many news. This is one of those teen movies that seems to positively revel in and exaggerate any and all bad behavior from teenagers. While Dead Kids makes somewhat of a comment on teenage cliques, popularity, bullying, peer pressure, and the income gap between the rich and the poor, all of this often gets lost in the over-the-top bad behavior. Teens curse in practically every line of dialogue, binge-drink until they vomit, brag about alleged sexual acts, visit massage parlors to pay for sex acts. The acting were very good, but a bit disappointing on Sue’s part because her characters did not grow at all she remained a mute sweet girl throughout the story. Its just so funny how they brought up the popular school UP which actually have a most number of students that became part of CPP-NPA that is what according to what I have read. The rebellious juvenile delinquent act of these high school kids can be relate to this group and of how they recruit this smart classmates of them that basically (may not be rich) but can have a great future ahead. The cinematography are overwhelming even though it is not that complex of all. A simple and yet well organized settings. It's a pitch-black thriller where the darkness and the occasional self indulgence supersedes the story. How to make a memorable movie? Curse all the way, because that is what our now President Of the Philippines are, vulgar and yet appreciated. The whole movie was a metaphor with an issue of an inner struggle and a turmoil that reflect of what a real teenagers go through. It’s kind of hilarious and not serious but (frankly, the movie was good ) I just find the dialogue not too good. Once dead kid always a dead kid one of the lines that I really find absolutely good. What does it takes to be alive anyway? Is the title “dead kids” because they are going to be killed in the end. Perhaps, being a mute and to never fight for your ideas and belief can make a person dead and if you stand up you’re alive? Our concept of dead or an outcast is unfairly driven to the point that this movie conceptualize what a student as the future generations can do and would risk. Money were always involve in that pursuit of being able to do something which symbolizes how greedy a man can be when money is involved. The movie can be criticize in many ways, especially how the social status of every student in school will affect their lives (which actually happens). Clearly in this movie another violence cannot solve one violence that may seem to be unfair but can be neglected. Kidnapping a fellow student is a picture of over reaction is a very disturbing concept among many teenagers. This movie might paints in parents mind a concerns of how might be their children in school doing. Over all highly recommended the camera work were energetic, the music scoring are equally just. A tragic ending awaits them, a plan that seems so easy to pull off and yet ended as a unwell planned juvenile executions.
