Wearing contact lenses is discouraged. • When working with certain chemicals that generate fumes, contact lenses can trap chemicals against the eye. Stay informed! Your teacher will inform you about the effects of certain chemicals or other procedures used in experiments on your health. Using heat • When heating, be careful not to touch hot surfaces • Always point test tubes away from yourself and others • If you are burned, placed the injured area immediately under cold water and tell the teacher.
