My daily routine. My working day usually begins at 6.55 a.m., when I wake up. As a rule I lie in bed for another 10 minutes. After that I get up, make up my bed, go to the bathroom, wash myself, brush my teeth and comb my hair. Then I go to the kitchen, cook my breakfast and have it. I prefer porridge and a cup of tea for breakfast. At 7.20 a.m. I leave the house and catch a bus to the university. It takes me an hour to get there. I arrive to the university at 8.20 a.m. My classes start at 8.30 a.m. I am a first-year full-time student at Siberian Federal University. I am studying to be a metallurgist at the School of Non-Ferrous Metals and Material Science. As a rule I have got 4 classes a day. Students have got lectures in Mathematics, Physics and the Basics of metal production and treatment; seminars on Personal development, English and Physical Education. Students have got a lunch break. It starts at 13.35 p.m. Some students have a snack at the university canteen, some take food from home. As for me, I prefer ….. (Ребята, здесь расскажите как вы обедаете) The break lasts for thirtyfive minutes. It finishes at 14.10 p.m. Lectures end at 15.45 p.m. Most of the students go home. On my way home I call in the shop to buy something for breakfast. When I come home, I have dinner and take a rest. Usually I start doing my home assignment at 19.00 p.m. It takes me 3-4 hours to read up for the next day. At 23.00 p.m. I go to the bathroom and take a shower. Before going to bed I prefer listening to the music or reading a book. (Здесь напишите, какую музыку или книги вы предпочитаете 1-2 предложения) At midnight I fall asleep. My family (the first part) Let me introduce myself. My full name is Sheshkina Daria Pavlovna. My first name is Daria. My patronymic is Pavlovna. My surname is Sheshkina. I`m 18 years old. I`m a first-year full-time student at Siberian Federal University. I`m studying to be a metallurgist at the School of Non-Ferrous Metals and Material Science. I study for free. (Я учусь бесплатно) (I pay tuition – Я учусь на договорной основе) My course runs for 4 years. I was born on the 19th of December in 2000 in Divnogorsk. My family is neither big nor small. There are 4 of us in the family: a mother, a father, a younger sister and me. My mother is a lawyer by profession. She loves small dogs. She cooks tasty pizzas. My father works at the recruitment office. He is very strong but kind. He is my best friend. My sister is Alyona. She is 10. She is an active, curious and interesting girl. She takes up ballet classes. I have been singing and playing the piano for 5 years. I`m also fond of doing photography and making videos. My family relationship I come from a fairly close-knit family, though we don`t always get on too well. I am very close to my grandmother Emma, especially as we have a lot in common. Recently I have fallen out with my grandfather John. Their son is my father Bob. He is quite old-fashioned and we don`t always see eye to eye. I know that I should look up to him as a role model, but I don`t respect him. On the other hand, I worship my mother Maureen. She is kind, caring and very tolerant of others. I have got a younger sister Sally, who I`m fond of. And I adore my brotherin-law Andrew, who is a very talanted painter. have got a precocious nephew Tony, who I`m a bit fed up with, and little cute niece Claudia, whom I adore. My father has got a sister, my aunt Sue. I respect her, as she has had to put up with a lot of hardship in life, especially being married to my uncle Stanley, who treats her terribly. I must confess I detest him. I also despise his son, my cousin Stewart, who takes after his father. My older cousin, Claire, on the other hand, I idolise. KRASNOYARSK Krasnoyarsk is one of the biggest cities in Eastern Siberia. It was founded in 1628 by Andrey Dubenskiy. Krasnoyarsk is the capital of Krasnoyarskiy kray. The city is situated on two banks of the Yenisey river. It is inhabited by more than a million of people. The place, where Krasnoyarsk is located, is famous for its beauty. Everyone knows the nature reserve “Stolby”, which is located three km away from Krasnoyarsk. Beautiful rocks of the reserve attract many people to this place. Citizens of Krasnoyarsk are fond of the arts. They enjoy every single possibility to take museum tours at Krasnoyarsk regional museum, Surikov art museum, Literature museum named after V.P. Astafiev. Besides they visit theatres quite often, for example, Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet theatre, Krasnoyarsk Dramatical theatre and Krasnoyarsk Theatre of Musical Comedy. Krasnoyarsk is also rich on names of famous people, who made the city known all over the world. They are Dubenskiy, Lenin, Chekhov, Rezanov, Gaidar, Surikov, Khvorostovskiy and Yarygin. But I would like to dwell on V.P. Astafiev, who was an outstanding Siberian writer. V.P. Astafiev was born on the 2nd of May in 1924 in the village called Ovsyanka. He is the author of such works as “The Tsar Fish”, “The Last Respect”, “The Shepherd and his wife” and many others. In 2004 Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University was named after V.P. Astafiev. Our city is a wonderful place to live in. However it has some advantages and disadvantages. At first, there are a lot of places to go out. For example, cinemas, theatres, cafes, malls, skating rinks and so on. In my opinion, this is one of the most important benefits of living in a city. Secondly, Krasnoyarsk is the educational centre of Siberia. There are a lot of institutes where you can get higher education for free. Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P.Astafiev, Siberian State Aerospace Academy named after Reshetnyov and Siberian Federal University are among them. Let`s dwell on some disadvantages now. Firstly, the air in Krasnoyarsk is polluted very much due to many industrial sites. Besides flats in our city are really expensive. Last but not the least is the fact that every day we are stuck up in traffic jams. As a rule they take place in the morning and in the evening. Nevertheless I am fond of living in Krasnoyarsk! My university Siberian Federal University is the largest, most modern and highlydeveloping educational institution in Eastern Siberia. It is located in Krasnoyarsk, the capital city of Krasnoyarskiy kray. Our modern multidisciplinary university combines fundamental and applied research and teaching. The university was established in 2006 by merging four large universities of Krasnoyarsk that had been training professionals in the most competitive sectors of economy in Siberia and the Far East. They were: Krasnoyarsk State University, Krasnoyarsk State Technical University, Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Architecture and Construction and Krasnoyarsk State University of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold. Today Siberian Federal University is the largest higher educational institution in Siberia and consists of 19 Institutes with more than 3,000 faculty staff teaching 41,000 students. The Chairman of the University Board of Trustees is Dmitry A. Medvedev, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In 2016 institutes were renamed into schools. They are: Law School Polytechnic School School of Architecture and Design School of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering School of Philology and Language Communication School of Business Management and Economics School of Ecology and Geography School of Economics and Commerce School of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies School of Education, Psychology and Sociology School of Engineering and Construction School of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics School of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology School for the Humanities School of Mathematics and Computer Science School of Military Engineering School of Mining, Geology and Geotechnology School of Non-Ferrous Metals and Material Science School of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism School of Space and Information Technologies I am a first-year full-time student at Siberian Federal University, I am studying to be a metallurgist. In 2018 I made up my mind to enter this particular university. There are plenty of reasons. The first and foremost is that I have got technical turn of mind. I am always fond of repairing domestic appliances and I am good at it. Besides, my father is an engineer and I am sure, that it is in my line. Moreover, SibFU provides qualified higher education for free. It is very important as many students come from villages. If a student is a diligent one, doesn`t miss classes, passes exams successfully, maintenance allowance will be paid by the university. Last but not the least is that a metallurgist is a very prestigious profession and a well-paid one.
