Shoulder Spica Wrap Provides mild support and anchors pads to absorb shock when preventing and treating shoulder sprains and strains. Materials include: 6” x 10 yards elastic wrap, 2” elastic tape, and 1½” NE tape Begin by having a patient stand with the hand on the lateral hip, with elbow bent. Anchor the end on the mid-humerus and wrap in a lateral-to-medial direction. At the posterior upper arm, continue around the chest and back to the shoulder. Encircle the arm again and continue to alternate this and finish the wrap over the upper arm or shoulder. Use 2” elastic tape and apply 1-2 spica patterns over the wrap.
