Paper Layout
Use 1-inch margins on all sides.
Use a clear font that is highly readable, such as Times New Roman, 12-point font.
Indent the first sentence of each paragraph 1 inch from the left margin of your paper.

Works Cited List
Goes on a separate page at end of paper
List should be alphabetized by the last name of author of each work. (If no author is listed, use the first
word of the title to alphabetize the listing.)
How to cite a book
Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. Publisher, Year of Publication.
(Note the punctuation and what is and is not italicized)
EXAMPLE: Doe, John. Life in the City. Penguin, 2013.
How to cite a website
Editor or author. Name of Site. URL. Date of access (date you found the information).
(Note 1: include the complete address for the site except for the https://)
(Note 2: If no editor or author is listed, cite the source by its title, and use the first word of the title to
alphabetize your Works Cited list)

In-text citations
From a book
If you are directly quoting from a book, you will need to include the author’s last name and
page number for the reference.
Example: She stated, "Students often had difficulty using APA style" (Jones 199).
From a website
If you are directly quoting from a website, you will need to include the first item that appears in the
Work Cited entry that corresponds to the citation (author name, article name, or website name). No
year or page number is required.
Example: They said, “The economy will recover with new monetary policies” (The Economist).
