Makurira Memorial Clinic evolved from a surgery on 7May 1984 to a private clinic on 1 July 1997. The
first delivery was conducted on 23 November 1996. It is registered with the private Hospitals Association
of Zimbabwe and also the Health Professions Authority Zimbabwe under the Health Professions Act.
The services are divided into two parts, that is the in-house and outsourced services

Admissions SectionPatients requiring or recommended for admission are required to pass through the Accounts
department to make payment arrangements or have their medical aid membership status
verified. <br> the patient has the right to choose any doctor of his or her choice provided the
doctor has the right of access to the clinic <br> On discharge, please ensure that you take your
medication from the nurses on duty, your belongings and the discharge summary.
Maternity SectionThe maternity department includes the labor ward, the neo natal unit, the NVD ward and the
caesarian section. Please note that only fathers are allowed to make visits into these wards

Spirometry Services
Pharmacy- Medication and sundries can be accessed from the retail pharmacy located within
the premises. The pharmacy is open Monday to Saturday from 8.00am to 8.00pm
Catering- Patients are provided with the menu for each day on which they can select meals.
Special diet of one’s choice can be arranged with our catering team. Meal times are as follows.
Breakfast 6.30am, Tea 10.00am, Lunch 12.30pm, Supper 5.30pm
Accounts- For cash paying patients, payments can be done by means of cash, Point of sale ,Eco
cash, RTGS and internal transfers

Retail Pharmacy
Laboratory Service- Services are provided by 4various private laboratories of one’s choice. They are
housed within the premise. However patients are not restricted to seek services from other laboratories
outside the premises. Many service providers provide 24hour services.
Dialysis Unit- the service is provided 24hours per day by privately owned gape Renal Unit. There are
three renal dialysis machines and one mobile dialysis machine.
Visiting Ophthalmologist-provided by a private ophthalmologist who makes monthly visits
Gynecologist and Obstetrician
Anesthetists
General Surgeon
Physiotherapists- services are provided in the wards by private physiotherapists upon recommendation
by your doctor. Separate charges are applicable
Ambulance- Private Ambulance services which include MARS, PSMI and Municipality of Masvingo
ambulance can be sourced with the assistance of our staff members
Facilities under development
Intensive care unit- we have 3 bedded intensive care unit which is currently under development
Accident and Emergency Unit
The accident and emergency unit operates 24hours a day with a full complement of resuscitation
equipment and trained staff.
Operating Theatre
The operating theatre is fully equipped with modern equipment and it is functional at all times.
