CHARACTERS
FRANK ASHMOLE is the dad, late thirties. He’s competent as
the “catcher” in the family trapeze act, otherwise a bland
personality, has no sense of direction.
LILLIANA ASHMOLE is the mom, mid-thirties. Devoted to her
family, but not fretful. Brains of the family.
CHER ASHMOLE is the fifteen year old daughter, a loose
cannon, and a source of concern for Dad.
PHINEAS ASHMOLE is the teenage son who keeps running away.
He wants to go to prep school and college and be a business
man, to the despair of his parents.
VERNON LOWMAN is the circus owner, about forty. Shady
character but has the best interests of the performers at
heart.
SALAMI is a dwarf clown who is Lowman’s sidekick. Likes big
women.
THE TATTOOED WONDER is a side-show performer with a slightly
raunchy act. He’s crude, obnoxious, lecherous, and meanspirited.
PROFESSOR VON MESMER is a magician and hypnotist who affects
a polished, gentlemanly manner. Fancies himself a ladies’
man.
MADAME MYSTRA is the Gypsy fortuneteller who looks out for
Cher.
OLGA is the lady strongperson. Doesn’t say much.
TATIANA is Olga’s sister, and the lion tamer. Puts men in
the same category as her “kitties”: dangerous and not to be
trusted.

CHARACTERS (CONTINUED)
SID is a teenage boy, a runaway who wants to join the
circus.
COOKIE is the cook with a hook instead of a hand.
DEPUTY SHERIFF is, well, you know the type. If this is made
a series, he would be a recurring character, playing the
local lawman.
LADY ANTOINETTE is the bearded fat lady.
CAPTAIN DIRK is the sword - swallower.
