Dissolving: Half Term Puzzles
Lesson 1: Atoms
We pretended to be atoms to show what it was like being packed
into a solid or move around in a liquid
Lesson 2: Expansion
We showed how things solids expand when they get hot with an
iron rod and air does the same in a chinese lantern
Lesson 3: Thermometers
We created our o wn thermometers using coloured water in
bottles, and talked about how thermometers used different
scales
Lesson 4: Using thermometers to measure how heat spreads out
We did and experiment with hot and cold water and showed how
they both got closer to room temperature with time
Lesson 5: Insulation
We tried different materials to see which ones stopped heat from
spreading as quickly
Lesson 6: Half term
A series of puzzles and quizzes to see how much we have learnt
