The Pope allows Henry to marry Catherine even though
she is his brothers’ widow.
Catherine gives birth to 6 children, but only 1 a girl called
Mary survives.

Some monks didn’t like Henry being in charge of the
Church. Henry closed them down and took all their land.
Henry then took all the treasures and gold from the
monasteries. This made him very rich and powerful.
