Deanna Groves Argument Essay When you see an animal abuse commercial on the television, how does it make you feel? Do you feel worse than you do when you see kids starving in foreign countries, or do you feel the equal feelings towards both commercials? To most ethic people when you would ask them who do you feel sorrier for they would probably tell you that, they are both innocent and can’t defend for themselves? Children listen to authorities and do as they have never learned right or wrong unless they are taught the difference; Children love being loved and they learn by watching others. In a way animals are the same they are very lovable creatures they enjoy being fed, played with and being cared for. Anybody with morals would never want to see anybody no matter animals or not want to see them harmed or mistreated. There are a lot of people in this world that are suffering from depression. Pets offer unconditional love that can help people with depression. There has been studies that show animals can reduce tension and improve moods. Animals don’t have feelings like humans do they will always be happy to see you because they are like babies every day is a new day they don’t hold grudges. Studies have said that people with depression usually like the idea of having responsibility to take care of a pet it helps give them a sense of their own value and importance. Overall having pets can bring you better health by lowering blood pressure, reduce stress hormones, and boosts levels of feel good chemical located in the brain. Having pets is obviously a great thing for everyone in the world, but then you run into people who should not have animals and are probably the same people who have children and mistreat them. Animals are without a doubt really no different from a baby they need helping eating, given a bath, taken to the doctors to get their shots and medicine. The most important thing they need love and to not be abused. There are people out there that love animals and will THE RIGHT TO TREAT ANIMALS 2 fill their whole house with various kinds of animals and just have an overload of pets. Even though this person might love their animals they need to think about whether they can actually take care of all these animals. People don’t think that this is a way of abusing animals but they are completely wrong to have all these animals crowded into one house is usually unsanitary, when things start to get unsanitary it starts to cause harmful ways of living. The laws are creeping up on animal abuse they are able to come into your homes and take away your pets as they would do the same thing if they had evidence of you mistreating your children. But the court hasn’t caught up on everything the value of a pet, is still an issue. If someone is negligently or intentionally kills your pet, the courts will usually award you a fair market value to compensate for the loss of your animal. The fair market value a pet is worth by figuring out; the price purchased, special training, for most breeds their fair market value is nothing. I believe that people should not allowed to adopt more than five pets in their houses without there being someone to go out and check their homes to make sure that environment is suitable for not only the animals but for whoever is living in that house as well. Animals are not property, they are living breathing loving animals that don't deserve that horrifying mistreatment. By law you are not allowed to torture, neglect, or destroy an animal you own in any inhumane way as you would for a human. In the laws eyes and the eyes of many families that own pets will tell you that they are not just pets but a member of that family.
