She implies that she has just received it as an inheritance. Now, she wants to put up a business in your city/municipality. You are now being consulted on how she can start the business. Questions : 1. What business can you propose to her? Discuss briefly. 2. Should the Php150M be allotted to the business, is the amount sufficient to put up a business? I. Time Context As now, Ms. Cabrera a budding entrepreneur wants to build a business in our city/municipality. II. Viewpoint Ms. Cabrera who have a money deposited on her bank account worth Php150M consulted me for her to be able to know on how she can start the business. III. Statement of the Problem Ms. Cabrera wants to know on how she can start the business using Php150M that she have got as an inheritance. IV. Objectives Must Objectives/ Short-Range Identify the specialization of her within a year to easily know what business she will going to pursue. Determine the location of the business depending on the business and your target market or people. Know the nearest and successful business/es that you will be going to compete with Specify the edge of your business. How different and unique you are to them. Conclusion/ Detailed Action or Implementation Plan Short Case Study : Planning NATIONAL BOOK COMPANY Jowelyn Cabrera was the founder and the president of a SARILING KATHA Publishing specializing in collegiate textbooks. Because of her personal ability, expertise, and effective marketing promotion, the company grew rapidly and its sales of 100,000 in the first year reach P500 million five years later. The publication, and sales force also increased. However, the company was faced with a serious problem. New and old employees were making conflicting decision. One of the partners suggested that the company needed planning and clear-cut policies and programs to guide decision making, but the president was not impressed. She maintains that if she concentrates in formulating plans and policies today, she might not have a company tomorrow. She believes it is best to solve problems as they happen. I. Time Context For the first year of SARILING KATHA Publishing by Jowelyn Cabrera it has a sales of P100,000. As time goes by, reaching the 5th year of publishing collegiate textbooks, it reached P500 million in sales. II. Viewpoint Jowelyn Cabrera not preferred to have concentrating on doing plans and policies having a perspective that solving probems is best when it is already happening. III. Statement of the Problem Even with the successful businesses are not excuse to experience problems. The company, SARILING KATHA Publishing faced with a serious problem we’re there new and old employees making conflicting decision. The company doesn’t have clear policies and programs as a guide for decision making. IV. Objectives Must Objectives/ Short-Range Create Vision and Mission of the company including the policies and programs that the company has. Make a plan ahead of the possible problems that company could experience. Want Objectives/ Long-Range The employees know how to step up their work by focusing on what the company needs to achieve. The company are ready to face the problems that they about to experience, applying the possible solutions to their problems. V. Areas of Consideration/Analysis 1. Ms. Jowelyn Cabrera is not yet well trained on how to operate business well. She started everything with her own views. 2. She doesn’t have real goals other than making a profit. 3. Cabrera doesn’t want to feel the employees that there is superior to them. 4. She is not good visualizing the possible problems that can occur. She doesn’t want to make things too complicated like having a thinking of, ”Why trying to solve problems when there is no any problem, if you can solve the problem when you already see? Conclusion/ Detailed Action or Implementation Plan SHORT CASE STUDY ORGANIZING THE COMPANY “I do not believe in an organization charts or position descriptions of any kind in this company.”, declared Jowelyn Zonio Cabrera, president and founder of the JCZ Company, manufacturer of women’s ready-to-wear (RTW) suits and coat. “We are successful and fastrising company where I want all managers and labor to work as a team. Organization charts and job descriptions make people believe they own a position on a chart and want to keep it. We grew from a small company with P100,000 annual sales to a P5 million enterprise because we pooled our resources, coming up with competitive products at low costs. We are not Asia Brewery Inc. with its complex organization charts.” Mr. Lito Titular, the company comptroller, strongly defended the president, emphasizing that teamwork, not organization charts, is the key to success. Angelita Mando, head of manufacturing, believed otherwise and declared the president’s view “absurd and unprogressive.” Ms. Mando, “I could not run my department without organization charts and position descriptions. As a matter of fact, I have them hidden in my desk where Ms. Cabrera never sees them!” I. Time Context Time goes by, a company turning to a big company. There need to be more organize than before in terms of organization charts and position descriptions. II. Viewpoint The president and founder of the JCZ Company is not believing with the concept of having an organization charts or position descriptions. What she believes, what company needs to do is all managers and labor should work as a team, specifically, applying teamwork in the company. III. Statement of the Problem The head of manufacturing, Angelita Mando, and Jowelyn Cabrera, president and founder with Mr. Lito Titular, the company comptroller, has different insights in organizing the company. Ms. Mando believes with the organization charts and position descriptions for the company to be well-organized. IV. Objectives Must Objectives/ Short-Range Evaluate how organize the company is. How many are confuse with their status in the company? What work they are about to focus? Criticize the employees according to their specializations, strengths and weaknesses. Create organization charts and job descriptions. Want Objectives/ Long-Range The company will function great having well-organized job positions. Employees will work more efficient and effective by concentrating on their experts or specialize skills and knowledge. V. Areas of Consideration/Analysis 1. Jowelyn Cabrera is satisfied to what is happening with the business not knowing the possible outcomes of it. 2. She has lack of knowledge in the operating the organization of the business. 3.
