1 Running head: ENG 101 ASSIGNMENT 1. College Now or Later? Jennifer Coy Colorado State University Global Campus ENG 101 Dr. Hawkins October 12, 2019 2 ENG 101 ASSIGNMENT 1. College Now or Later Q: Do you think it is better to start college right after high school or wait? The answer is more circumstantial than a direct response of yes or no, yada, yada, yada. Being able to go right into college after high school would have been ideal for myself, but due to unforeseen circumstances that was not an option at the time being, and for quite some time after. I would say that whether or not you would like to start college immediately or not would be a determining factor for the greater population of high school graduates. On the other hand, some people have parents that make that decision for them, others may use college as an excuse to get out of their parents house, some may have family obligations that prevent them from the opportunity to going to college, and others take longer on deciding when the best time to go to college is. For those people, one day, (maybe 20 years give or take) when life becomes manageable and they have a little free time to take a breath, they say, “Okay I’m ready!” Sometimes life does not give us an opportunity to make a decision. Like some would say, “That's the way 3 ENG 101 ASSIGNMENT 1. the way the cookie crumbles” or “Life is like a box of chocolates you, never know what you’re gonna get,” (Forrest Gump, 1994). College Now or Later Nevertheless, even though college might not be a reasonable opportunity for you right when you get out of high school, you should definitely take the chance when your life gives you the time to do so. Whether it is for starting or advancing your career, satisfying you or parents educational goals, or you just have that perfect opportunity and want to take advantage of the college experience, everybody should manage their time to make time to go to college some time or other. And when you do, it will be one of the best decisions you ever made in your life. 4 ENG 101 ASSIGNMENT 1. References Forrest Gump, (1994) DVD United States: Robert Zemeckis
